The costs of European integration to the White House

By Mohammad Ghaderi

In one of his most recent statements, French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the end of US and Western hegemony in the international system. The remarks come as the EU and eurozone are also facing a severe crisis of leadership.
Macron has warned Western nations against the “strategic mistake” of alienating Russia – but in doing so, he seeks a bigger role for himself in international politics.
“We are living the end of Western hegemony,” Macron told diplomats , after hosting the G7 meeting in the city of Biarritz on France’s Atlantic coast over the weekend. He named the rise of Beijing and Moscow as signs of a shift on the world scene.
The reality is that the European Union and the eurozone, on the one hand, acknowledge the end of Western hegemony, and in particular the United States, and on the other hand, continue to be dominated by Washington. The EU's inactivity towards Europe has led to anger and frustration among citizens.
The EU and the eurozone have a very uncertain future. In other words, America and Europe can no longer speak of international domination.
In such a situation, people like the French President and German Chancellor are worried about the future of the eurozone and the European Union. This concern increases over time. The occurrence of a variety of security, political, economic and social crises has created many challenges in the European Union and the eurozone.
The emergence of these challenges has led to a sharp decline in the popularity of traditional parties in Europe. In such a way, nationalist parties have been able to increase their popularity with the public. Which side are the European Union and the eurozone really heading to?
ill the future of Europe finally be clear these are the questions that concern the mentally ill, such as Merkel and Macron?
Ultimately, the more Europe delays  in moving away from the United States, the more it will pay. It is as if European officials have not yet understood it. There is a long gap between the recent remarks of the French President and the EU's practical approach.

Europe must feel threatened!

By Hanif Ghaffari

U.S. President Donald Trump and  The U.S.National Security Adviser John Bolton continue to think about the breakup of the European Union and the collapse of the eurozone. Yet politicians like German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron still think they can get into a political and economic equation with the US president! This dangerous and inaccurate look has caused European authorities to become more and more vulnerable to harm! Many analysts of international affairs have recently had a special focus on US-EU relations.
Some signals and speeches by the President of the United States which are addressed to the European authorities indicate the full opposition of the White House to the European Union.
EU officials are well aware that during the recent European parliamentary elections, Donald Trump and his allies were the main supporters of nationalist and extremist parties in Europe. This has led to victory in some European countries such as Hungary, France, and Britain, nationalist and anti-immigration parties. The main question is how long will the European authorities' reconciliation with the Trump administration continue ?!
What is certain is that the EU is completing its own process of collapse and destruction on its own! the European officials haven’t yet understood the extent of Trump’s hostility to the existence of the United European. This is while the trade war between Trump and the European Union has entered a new phase since the beginning of 2018. Some American economic analysts believe that based on his protectionist policies, Trump will impose new and wider tariffs on the EU, China, Canada, and Mexico in the future. European officials are now faced with a president who sees "economic protectionism" as a major policy in the field of commerce, and in the future, he will try to pursue this policy even more seriously.
Undoubtedly, there will soon be more economic disputes between America and Europe. In other words, the Trade war between these two will become more intense in near future. Furthermore, countries like China and Canada will also enter this confrontation with the United States. Europe does not have much opportunity to prevent its economic and political destruction by the White House! Aren't the European authorities awake ?!

The ambiguous future of European Union

By Hanif Ghafari
TEHRAN - Economic, security, social and political crises in Europe continue. On the other hand, the next four months will be the European Parliamentary elections: elections that are expected to be successful in those nationalist and extremist groups.
Under these circumstances, the "future of the European Union" has no clear prospect! Many analysts and experts in the field of international relations are cautious about the political existence of the European Union and the Eurozone.
Meanwhile, the political situation of European leaders is not clear. What is happening today in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom reflects this fact. Although French President Emmanuel Macron has withdrawn from the fuel tax laws, the "Yellow Vests" continue to follow their demands of the Elysees Palace, taking out to the streets of Paris and other cities. Indeed, what is happening in Europe? Is "the collapse of United Europe" still an "abstract idea"? Or has it become an "objective reality" under the influence of past years' events in Europe? In this regard, there are some points that should be taken into consideration:
1-As emphasized at the beginning of this note, The European Union is now under a critical pressure! The constant political, social and security crises have raised the vulnerability of this block. On the other hand, European leaders have clearly lost control over issues such as "Brexit" and "European economic crisis". It shouldn't be forgotten that ten years of austerity policies and a reduction in the general budgets of the Eurozone member states had bad results for the European citizens, and the signs of the economic crisis can be still seen throughout Europe.
2-Many European leaders feel incapable of solving existing crises. It should be noted that EU leaders like Merkel and Macron do not have a common understanding of what is going on in this series! On the other hand, if the nationalist and anti-European parties achieve absolute or relative victory in the 2019 European Parliamentary elections, the situation in the European Union and the eurozone will become harder.
Eu is faced with a serious problem called the growth of nationalism and Right extremism. These anti-immigration movements, which, after the failure of European governments to resolve the economic crisis as well as the imminent crisis of immigration in 2015, have gained a lot of supporters, are planning to conquer the European Parliament and government, and then put an end to the "United Europe" and its symbols such as "the Euro currency" and "Schengen Agreement.
At the moment, EU leaders are worried about the outcome of this year's parliamentary elections.
In the 2014 parliamentary elections, more than 100 nationalist and far-right extremists managed to find the way to the European Parliament. This time, nationalists may win even more seats in the European Parliament. In this case, the social and political power of nationalist and anti-immigration movements in Europe will be increased. Consequently, the existence of United Europe's foundation will be directly targeted. This is a threat that has already shadowed Brussels (the headquarters of the European Union).
Finally, the fate of the European Union and the Eurozone are tied to the European Parliamentary elections. Will these elections mean the revival of the European Union or the beginning of its collapse? The answer to this question will be determined in the near future.
