Ansarullah: Continued Saudi escalation may alter ‘Vision 2030’

A senior member of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement says that continued escalation by Saudi Arabia compels Yemeni forces to “sketch a different face” for the Kingdom’s “Vision 2030.”

Hazem al-Assad made the remarks in response to persistent Saudi attacks against civilian centers in Yemen, Taqrib News Agency (TNA) reported.

“Vision 2030” is an ironic reference to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s major economic development plan, which aims to transform the country’s economy by 2030.

Saudi Arabia has intensified its attacks on Sana’a and other provinces across the country in recent days. In the latest of these strikes, Saudi fighter jets hit a maternity hospital in the Yemeni capital causing extensive damage to the health facility.

Condemning the aggression, al-Assad vowed a policy of “capital for capital” retaliation. He stated, “Saudi attacks on civilian targets in Sana’a will not hinder the Yemeni Armed Forces’ ongoing operations to drive out Saudi-backed forces from Taiz.”

In retaliation for the aggression against Sana’a, the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a unique military operation targeting Aramco facilities in Riyadh.

According to Yemeni Army spokesman Yahya Saree, the Saudi Air Force has conducted 60 airstrikes and missile attacks, targeting civilian infrastructure in the provinces of Sana’a, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, and Ma’rib within the past 24 hours. These recent strikes bring the total number of Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks on Yemen to 1,410 since the current escalation began.
