Islamic unity is a devotional obligation, not a political expediency

:  Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ja'id in an interview with TNA

Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ja'id, while explaining the thought of Islamic unity as a devotional obligation, criticized the passive policies of the Lebanese government toward the resistance, and emphasizing the continuation of the war of support, expressed complete confidence in the resistance movements' allegiance to the new leadership of the Resistance Axis.

Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ja'id, Vice President of the Muslim Scholars Association and General Coordinator of the Islamic Action Front, in an interview with the Taghrib News Agency (TNA), while praising the thought of the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei  in redefining the concept of unity, stated: "Contrary to the biased propaganda of media that interpret unity as a tool for political influence or Iran's national interests, the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei's view of unity is rooted in religious texts and devotional commandments."

He added: "From his perspective, unity is on par with prayer, fasting, and Hajj, and from the perspective of the Holy Quran (And hold fast to the rope of God...), it is a divine matter and a religious obligation for all Muslims, regardless of denomination, color, or race."

Citing the Prophetic hadith about the sanctity of a Muslim's blood and property, he raised the fundamental question of how one can claim to be a Muslim while considering another's blood permissible.

He emphasized that jurisprudential differences between Shia and Sunni are only in the manner of reading history, not in the principles of worship and servitude, and even regarding the issue of "Imam Mahdi (AJ)," the shared belief between both denominations transcends historical margins.

Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ja'id, appreciating Imam Khomeini's (RA) initiative in naming "Unity Week," called this action a successful model that was transformed by the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei into an international institution and discourse, and now, after four decades, it inspires elites from around the world.

The Coordinator of the Lebanese Islamic Action Front, in another part of this interview, considered the current developments in Lebanon as an extension of the "Al-Aqsa Storm" battle. He emphasized: "Hezbollah and Iran entered the field not out of a sectarian view, but out of Islamic and moral duty to support Gaza."

Referring to the "War of Support" founded by the martyred Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, he added: "The resistance, despite losing its great leaders, did not retreat and, by enduring pressures, showed unparalleled steadfastness in the wars of 2024 and 2026."

The Vice President of the Muslim Scholars Association, recalling the victory of 2000, emphasized that Hezbollah dedicated this achievement to all of Lebanon, and the martyred Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah always emphasized national unity. Expressing regret over the performance of some internal Lebanese currents that have pressured the resistance and sought compromise agreements, he said: "Today's problem in Lebanon is not Israel, but a current that has held Lebanon hostage to American projects."

Rejecting the thinking of compromise and hope in new leaders

Sheikh Zuhair Al-Ja'id, explicitly criticizing the Lebanese government's opposition to the Iranian support clauses in the "Islamabad Agreement," called this approach irresponsible. He stated: "Iran in Islamabad sought to preserve Lebanon, not just Hezbollah. They wanted to provide security for all Lebanese sects, but the government rejected this proposal."

In conclusion, looking to the future and referring to the martyrdom of the great leaders (the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, and Ismail Haniyeh) (may God be pleased with them), he said with a hopeful tone: "This Ummah is a living Ummah. We have complete confidence in the new leadership in the Islamic Republic of Iran (Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei), the leadership of Hezbollah (Sheikh Naim Qassem), and other leaders of the Resistance Axis in Gaza, Iraq, and Yemen."

"The strategy of pressure to disarm the resistance, whether in Palestine, Lebanon, or Yemen, will fail with the steadfastness of this axis, and we will witness that the resistance throughout the entire region will return more powerful than before."
