Trump–Netanyahu Policies Toward Iran: Assessment, Failures, and Proposed Options

According to the author, the recent 12‑day Israeli military operation—carried out with U.S. support—was intended as a decisive step toward regime change.

The operation targeted senior Iranian military leaders, activated armed cells inside Iran, and struck nuclear facilities, based on the assumption that Iran’s internal economic difficulties would accelerate collapse.

However, the analysis states that the military attack, internal sabotage efforts, and subsequent attempts to fuel unrest inside Iran all failed. After these setbacks, Washington and Tel Aviv shifted to supporting protests, supplying armed groups, and escalating internal tensions—an approach the author also describes as unsuccessful. The U.S. and Israel then resorted to new threats of military action before stepping back again.
The commentary links U.S. pressure on Venezuela and European alignment with Washington to a broader strategy of tightening economic and political pressure on Iran. It also says the International Atomic Energy Agency is acting as an intelligence tool for the U.S. and Israel.
Situation Assessment
The author argues that the U.S.–Israeli campaign relies on misinformation and seeks to:
  • Push Iran into concessions in exchange for halting hostilities.
Create internal divisions within Iran to weaken its unified stance.
Maintain the threat of renewed military action, which the author considers still likely.
Proposed Options for Iran
The analysis outlines several recommendations for Iranian authorities in response to perceived regime‑change efforts:
  1. Prepare for potential military confrontation and strengthen internal stability, especially by addressing economic challenges.
Fix weaknesses in military and security performance revealed during the recent conflict.
    Remove infiltrators from official institutions.
Declare public mobilization, including weapons training for citizens—especially students—and organizing large‑scale demonstrations.
Increase public awareness about ongoing threats and the need for national readiness.
Expose U.S.–Israeli plans through coordinated media, cultural, religious, and academic efforts.
The author concludes that Iran must treat the current period as a stage of comprehensive preparation at military, governmental, and societal levels.
