Bulgarian analyst: Armed provocations and coup attempts aim to weaken Iran

Bulgarian analyst and author Stanislav Bachev
Moscow, IRNA - Bulgarian expert Stanislav Bachev says that the recent armed provocations and coup attempts aimed to weaken the Islamic Republic.

“The unfolding events in Iran, namely the terrorist attempts to overthrow a legitimate power, are inseparably bound to the global confrontation between the US and Israel on one part and Iran, Russia and China on the other,” Bachev told IRNA.

He said that the attempts after June 2025 paved the way for unrest inside Iran by weakening its national currency and halting the main markets that influence the Rial – specifically, Sulaymaniyah in Iraq and Herat in Afghanistan.

“As a result, in the late 2025 the value of the Iranian national currency dropped significantly,” he added.

“The current global conflict can be divided into three inseparable fronts – the European, where the former territory of Ukraine is the center of the clash, the Iranian front (wrongly referred as Middle-Eastern) and the Pacific, where the US challenges China over Taiwan,” he stated.

Today, the US is suffering from a gradual social collapse at various levels, including the loss of a greater purpose for its existence, as the American Dream no longer exists—a dream that has been destroyed by its own elites.

Elaborating on the critical situation in Israel, he said the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fighting for his political survival domestically, while simultaneously exerting significant external influence on the Trump administration in Washington and perhaps in Moscow.

“He needs war to survive politically, but the risk of provoking Iran creates a real threat to the whole existence of Israel, which needs the support of both the US and Russia to save it,” Bachev said.

“From internal point of view there is a huge clash inside Israel, which is on the brink of a civil war,” he stressed.

Referring to the recent military aggression in against Iran, he said Iran, by maintaining national unity and striking back at the invading parties, sent important and firm messages to the US.

Iran is a significant partner of Russia and China in the broader effort to reshape the global security architecture, he noted.

Iran is an ancient civilization, and is aware of the importance of self-reliance, the Bulgarian analyst said.

He highlighted the role of Turkey, which now has a serious interest in assisting Iran at various levels.

China and Russia need to prove to Iran that they are reliable in times of need, he underlined.
