Imam Ali Is the Pride of Islam and a Compassionate Father for the Islamic Ummah

He stated: “Much has already been written in books about Imam Ali and the Ahl al Bayt of the Prophet (PBUH), so there is no need to repeat what is well established about their lofty status.”

Sheikh Afra emphasized that their virtues and elevated position are unparalleled, and that Sunnis hold special respect for them—from the Prophet’s daughter Fatimah al Zahra (SA) to Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn (AS), all of whom occupy a distinguished place in Islam among Sunnis.

He added: “In our acts of worship, we send blessings upon the Ahl al Bayt, which itself reflects the respect they hold among Sunnis. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) considered Imam Ali as part of himself and always kept him close. Imam Ali was present alongside the Prophet in battles and campaigns, acting like a father to the Islamic Ummah.”
As a member of the Council for Planning Sunni Religious Schools, Sheikh Afra pointed to the Qur’anic verse affirming the purity of the Ahl al Bayt: “Indeed, Allah intends to remove all impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you completely.”
In conclusion, as acting Friday Prayer Leader of Kangan, he stressed: “Imam Ali is a compassionate father for the Islamic Ummah, a respected figure, a great personality, and a source of pride for Islam. Muslims must follow his example to strengthen unity and advance the goals of Islam, just as he did.”
