Supporting the People of Iran Is Standing Against Oppression

:Head of the Blue Mosque Qur’an Center in Manila

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Rather, he said, it is support for a Muslim nation that has endured decades of sanctions, economic warfare, threats, assassinations, and character assassination, yet has preserved its dignity, independence, and resistance against global injustice.

He referenced the Qur’anic verse: “And why should you not fight in the cause of God and for the oppressed?” (Qur’an 4:75).
He added that the people of Iran—like Palestinians, Yemenis, Syrians, and others—have faced systematic oppression, collective punishment, and constant pressure for refusing to submit to unjust global powers.
The Imam of the Blue Mosque in the Philippines continued: “O servants of God! Islam does not permit us to abandon justice because of sectarian differences.” He cited the verse: “The believers are but brothers.” (Qur’an 49:10).
Ustadh Bayan emphasized that the enemies of the Muslim Ummah exploit divisions between Sunni and Shia, Arab and non‑Arab, East and West. Yet the Qur’an calls believers to unity: “Hold firmly to the rope of God, all together, and do not be divided.” (Qur’an 3:103).
He stressed that supporting the people of Iran means standing against oppression, not promoting sectarian hatred. The Qur’an repeatedly condemns arrogant oppressors and praises those who resist them.
The head of the Blue Mosque Qur’an Center in Manila added that resisting domination, exploitation, and humiliation is not extremism but fidelity to the Holy Qur’an. He cited the verse: “We intend to show favor to those who were oppressed in the land.” (Qur’an 28:5).
It is worth noting that the Blue Mosque was established in 1974 in Manila’s Muslim district and gradually expanded. It is now the second‑largest mosque in the metropolitan area after the Golden Mosque. One of its halls hosts the Qur’an Center, established with the cooperation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and Iran’s Cultural Center, to promote Qur’anic education in the Maharlika Muslim community.
