Iranian Sunni clerics from Hormozgan Province voice support for Leader, Islamic establishment

More than 200 Sunni scholars from Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan have voiced strong support for the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Some 240 Friday prayer leaders and members of the Sunni councils from Hormozgan Province have issued a statement stressing Islamic unity and obedience of the Leader of Islamic Revolution as the key to honor and advance of Iran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The clerics warned that the enemies of Islam and Iran, wage hybrid war and media plots to undermine the national solidarity of Iranians.

The Sunni scholars also renewed vows with the objectives of late Imam Khomeini (RA) and martyrs emphasizing support for jurisprudence and defending the achievements of the Islamic establishment.

The statement by the Sunni scholars comes after nearly two weeks of deadly terrorist attacks in different cities.

The attacks were supported by U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump, who threatened to attack Iran if Iranian security forces took measures against rioters.
