Media Story on Message from Araqchi to Witkoff Refuted

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei categorically denied a media report claiming that Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi sent a message to US president’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, dismissing the story as entirely false.

بقائی درباره ادعاهای رسانه رژیم صهیونیستی مبنی بر پیام عراقچی و ویتکاف گفت: من گلایه کنم از رسانه‌ها، اینکه بدون تامل برخی گزارش‌هایی که توسط منابع رژیم تولید می‌شود را منتشر می‌کنند. وقتی که طرف آمریکایی به عنوان دوست صمیمی رژیم صهیونیستی اذعان می‌کند که اطلاعات تولید شده توسط اسرائیل را باید با نگرانی شدید نگاه کرد، چگونه رسانه‌های ما این گزارش‌ها را ترویج می‌کنند. مطلقا این ادعای مطرح شده صحت ندارد و دروغی در ادامه دروغ پردازی‌های رژیم صهیونیستی است. نکته‌هایی در این گزارش است و آن دشمنی رژیم صهیونیستی با هرگونه دیپلماسی و اینکه یکی از منابع تولید اطلاعات جعلی همین رژیم است. اینکه می‌بینید گفته می‌شود در روز 25 دی ماه قرار است 800 نفر اعدام شوند، ما می‌بینیم چقدر دروغ بزرگی است.بقائی درباره مذاکرات با آمریکا در خصوص احتمال حمله گفت: شما با طرفی می‌توانید وارد گفتگو شوید که به دنبال جنگ نباشد. موضع ما روشن است، ما هیچ‌گاه از دیپلماسی رویگردان نبوده‌ایم. مردم ما به عینه دیدند پنج دور مذاکره انجام شد، طرفی که بهم زد و میز مذاکره را به آتش کشید طرف آمریکایی با همدستی رژیم صهیونیستی بود. ما هم در مذاکره صداقت داریم و هم در دفاع از خود جدی هستیم. مگر می‌شود در زمان تهدید بایستیم و تماشا کنیم. نیروهای ما به هر تعرضی پاسخ پشیمان کننده خواهند داد. در سطح دیپلماسی ما اقداماتی را انجام دادیم و تعاملاتی با طرف‌های منطقه داشتیم. حتما هیچ کشوری از جنگ استقبال نمی‌کند اما در صورتی که تحمیل شود گزینه‌ای جز ایستادگی وجود نخواهد داشت.

In comments at a weekly press conference on Monday, Baqaei reacted to claims circulated by Israeli regime–affiliated media outlets.

He voiced criticism of some media outlets for publishing reports produced by sources linked to the Zionist regime without sufficient scrutiny.

Baqaei noted that even the American side, which he described as a close ally of the Israeli regime, has acknowledged that information generated by Israel should be viewed with serious concern, questioning why such reports are nevertheless promoted by media outlets.

The spokesperson stressed that the claim regarding a message between Araqchi and Witkoff is completely untrue and described it as a lie in continuation of the Zionist regime’s pattern of falsehoods.

He added that the report itself reflects the Israeli regime’s hostility toward any form of diplomacy and said that one of the main producers of fabricated information is the Zionist regime itself. As an example, he referred to claims that 800 people were supposed to be executed in Iran on January 15, describing them as a major falsehood.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Baqaei addressed the issue of talks with the United States amid threats of a possible attack, saying dialogue is only possible with a party that is not seeking war.

Iran’s position is clear as it has never turned away from diplomacy, the spokesman underlined, noting that the Iranian people witnessed five rounds of negotiations. He added that it was the American side, in collusion with the Israeli regime, that disrupted the talks and destroyed the negotiating table.

Baqaei stated that Iran is sincere in negotiations while remaining serious about defending itself, saying it is impossible to stand by and watch in the face of threats.

He also noted that Iran has taken diplomatic steps and engaged with regional parties, stressing that no country welcomes war, but if it is imposed, there will be no option other than resistance.
