A group of prominent Pakistani scholars has categorically rejected “unverified” claims regarding a Yemeni attack on the holy city of Mecca calling for unity amid the ongoing tense situation in the region.
In a recent statement, members of the Ulema and Mashayikh Ittehad Council of Pakistan warned against potential mischief by the Israeli regime, particularly given the ongoing regional tensions, reported the Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The leaders of the Council emphasized that the “hypocritical attitude” of the Israeli regime has become increasingly evident to the international community.
The scholars stated that the current situation concerning Palestine, the Al-Aqsa Mosque—as the first Qibla—and other pressing issues facing the Muslim world demands that the Muslim Ummah promote unity, strengthen economic cooperation, achieve defense self-reliance, and exercise wise diplomacy.
They further emphasized that the current global landscape provides a crucial opportunity for Muslim nations to bolster mutual cooperation and adopt a unified strategic approach.
The scholars appealed to religious leaders, political figures, and the media to refrain from disseminating unverified reports concerning the Two Holy Mosques. They highlighted Islamic unity as an essential imperative to prevent further devastation in Gaza, de-escalate tensions in the Persian Gulf, and address growing regional threats.
Concluding their statement, the leaders stressed that the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques remains a shared sacred concern for the entire Muslim Ummah. “Every step concerning this matter should be taken on the basis of verification, piety, responsibility, and consideration for the broader interests of the Muslim Ummah,” they stated.
The Ulema and Mashayikh Ittehad Council is led by Allama Pir Muneeb Ahmed Peer Sabaqi. Other prominent members include Syed Ayub Shah Bukhari, Pirzada Muhammad Amin Qadri, and Pir Anis Ahmed Ghafouri.
