Imam Khamenei had a grand vision regarding Pakistan

"Ahmed Siddiqui," the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, referring to the high status of the Iranian people among Pakistanis, said: "Iran's martyred leader had a grand vision regarding Pakistan, and this vision had a significant impact on the relations between the two countries."

In order to develop interactions in the field of cultural and public diplomacy between Iran and Pakistan, yesterday afternoon (September 15), Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imani-Pour, the Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, met and held talks with Ahmed Siddiqui, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Tehran.

The head of the country's cultural diplomacy, in this meeting held at the office of the presidency of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in his remarks, referring to the historical relations between Iran and Pakistan, stated: "The level of affection between the two countries for one another and the necessity of developing relations need no explanation, because from whatever angle we look at Iran-Pakistan relations, deep affinities and bonds are observed between the two countries."

Appreciating the Pakistani nation for standing with the Islamic Republic of Iran during the martyrdom and historic funeral of the martyred leader of the Islamic revolution, he said: "Our colleagues in Pakistan, in their reports, reflected the level of sympathy of the people of that country with the Iranian nation. This abundance and intensity of affection for the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah is a source of wonder. The presence of official delegations from Pakistan in the multi-day farewell ceremony with the body of the martyred leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (RA), confirms this sincere and enduring solidarity."

The Ramadan War led to Iranians' greater recognition of Pakistan

Imani-Pour, referring to recent regional developments and relations between the two countries, said: "During the attacks of the agents of Satan over the past year, along with the world facing another face of the authority and resistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with all the bitter memories resulting from the war, the Iranian nation, due to recent events and good neighborliness and sincere support, came to know Pakistan better and more extensively."

Referring to the designation of an occasion in the official calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran as "Allama Iqbal Lahori's birthday," he added: "This event can continuously provide the ground for the people of the two countries to become more familiar with each other's culture and prominent figures, and be a reason for greater friendship. Just as the increase in media and human exchanges between the two countries during the third imposed war and the funeral ceremony of the leader of the Ummah proved effective for the mutual understanding of the two nations."

The Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, referring to the efforts of popular cultural, social, and media groups in Pakistan in developing interactions between the two Muslim nations of Iran and Pakistan, said: "Next year, we will have the 80th anniversary of Iran-Pakistan relations, and this occasion, with the presence of media activists and the accompaniment of well-known human-media figures, can provide a very good ground for the two nations to become more familiar with each other's cultural characteristics."

Hujjat al-Islam Imani-Pour, referring to the six active cultural representations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in various cities of Pakistan, continued: "Whatever assistance is needed to introduce Pakistan to the people of Iran, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization is ready to cooperate in this regard. Reciprocally, Pakistan's presence in Iran's cultural events can create a suitable ground for strengthening relations between the two countries."

The Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization emphasized the necessity of increasing the presence of both countries in cultural and artistic exhibitions and, in particular, developing cinematic cooperation, and said: "The formation and activation of joint cultural committees between the two countries can be effective in producing international projects and expanding the audience range of Iranian and Pakistani works."

Referring to his knowledge of the Pakistani Ambassador's interest in calligraphy, he announced the organization's readiness to cooperate in this field: "The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, as the executive arm of Iran's cultural diplomacy, has representations in 60 countries, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has a more prominent cultural presence in a country like Pakistan due to commonalities such as literature, language, and script."

Hujjat al-Islam Imani-Pour counted Palestine as the shared pain of Iran and the Islamic world and one of the grounds for dialogue between the two countries, and expressed hope that in this field, which is one of the areas of interest of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, we will witness more cooperation.

Imam Khamenei's vision regarding Pakistan had a significant impact on the interactions of the two neighbors

In continuation, Ahmed Siddiqui, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Tehran, thanking the hosting and reception of the Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, considered the relations between the two countries as possessing extensive capacities, and referring to the level of people-to-people relations between Iran and Pakistan, said: "One of my regrets is that the people of Iran do not have sufficient knowledge and connection with Pakistan, and on the other hand, the people of Pakistan also do not have the connection with Iran and the Iranian people that they should. The connection between the two nations should not be limited only to religious relations and the presence of Pakistani pilgrims in Iran."

The Ambassador of Pakistan in Tehran, emphasizing the shared cultural capacities of the two countries, stated: "Even in the cultural field, relations between Iran and Pakistan are limited, while there are few countries in the world that have this much cultural commonality. The commonalities of the two countries in fields such as poetry, painting and art, language, and history are very great, and we must use these capacities. We expect the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization to help increase the recognition and mutual understanding of the people of the two countries."

Siddiqui, referring to Iran's status among the people of Pakistan, said: "Iran's martyred leader had a grand vision regarding Pakistan, and this vision was influential in the relations between the two countries. When Iran was attacked, there were Pakistanis who made vows of sacrifice for the health and victory of the Iranian people, because the Iranian people are close to our hearts, and their health and security are important to the people of Pakistan."

The Ambassador of Pakistan also called for increasing the recognition of the people of Southwest Asian countries regarding Iran and said: "We request your help so that we can increase the understanding of the people in Southwest Asia regarding Iran. I have several cultural projects in mind that I started in 2009, and given my interest in the field of calligraphy, I have held several exhibitions of my art collection in this field, and I am trying to display these works in various cities of Iran, for the realization of which we need the help and cooperation of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization."

He further, referring to the plans of the Pakistani Embassy to advance relations between the two countries, said: "We at the embassy are planning to advance Iran-Pakistan relations. Commercial, sports, and diplomacy fields are also other areas that can be developed between the two countries."

The Ambassador of Pakistan, referring to his experience of presence in Canada, said: "We can use the experience I had in Canada to develop scientific cooperation between Iran and Pakistan. It is appropriate that the top five universities of Iran and the top five universities of Pakistan, in the first stage, examine the grounds for scientific interaction and cooperation, so that we begin the work with small steps and then expand it."
