The head of Iran’s Assembly of Experts has commended President Masoud Pezeshkian’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, describing it as a decisive defense of the dignity of the Iranian nation and the supreme interests of the Islamic Republic.
In an official statement, Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahedi Kermani noted that the president articulated Iran’s positions with “wisdom, strength, dignity, and independence.”
He emphasized that Pezeshkian’s focus on resistance, justice, dialogue, and mutual respect—complemented by the display of images of the martyred Leader of the Ummah, the martyred students of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, and other victims of the Ramadan war—served as a vital campaign of clarification.
He noted this approach underscores the necessity of confronting injustice, unilateralism, and the excessive demands of global powers, reflecting the Islamic Republic’s rational, dignified, and responsible stance in international relations.
President Pezeshkian delivered his address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, where he condemned US-Israeli aggression against Iran, addressed critical regional developments, and outlined Tehran’s principled position on its peaceful nuclear program.
Responding to ongoing pressures and threats against the Islamic Republic, the president declared, “The resistance of the Iranian people will only increase in the face of sanctions, intensified pressure, and bullying.”
Pezeshkian further emphasized Tehran’s commitment to diplomacy, telling the assembly, “We are ready for dialogue and negotiation, provided that the language of force is rejected.”
