Iran's representative responds to Netanyahu's claims at the UN General Assembly

Iran's representative, referring to the claims made by Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, against Iran at the UN General Assembly, said: "If the General Assembly banned the apartheid regime of South Africa from speaking at this Assembly in the 1970s, why should it today grant this privilege to this criminal?"

Nasser Asadi, the Third Counselor of Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, by reading a statement, responded to the nonsense of Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, at the UN General Assembly, and stated: "This organization was established to save future generations from the scourge of war. However, today, the main architect of this very scourge, the Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, spoke at this Assembly. This action was a great disgrace for this institution."

He continued: "This is the ultimate insult to all sublime values such as 'justice,' 'equality,' and 'human dignity and worth' mentioned in the Charter of this organization. This is the greatest insult to the principles of humanity and the human conscience. This is a deep betrayal of the goals and principles of this organization. The UN was established to maintain peace and justice, not to be a platform for war criminals."

Iran's representative, referring to the issuance of an international arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, for war crimes in Gaza, stated: "How is it possible that an individual whose case is currently under review in two international courts for committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide is allowed to be present at this Assembly? Should he have appeared here to justify his crimes, or in court to answer for his genocide?"

He emphasized: "According to the UN's own assessment, the Israeli regime, in less than two years, dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosives on the people of Gaza, which is equivalent to the explosive power of about 13 nuclear bombs of the type used to attack Hiroshima. Today, the Prime Minister of the regime told this Assembly that he brutally killed about 75,000 Palestinian civilians, mainly women and children, and wounded about 175,000 others, only because he 'had no other choice!' He also added that he made the decision to commit these crimes and crimes such as collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, and the use of starvation as a method of warfare very easily! This information is not Iran's claims. These are the judicial findings and documented international legal investigations."

According to Asadi, in January 2024, the International Court of Justice, and in September 2025, the UN Commission of Inquiry, concluded that the Israeli regime is committing genocide in Gaza. How can the UN provide a platform for such an infamous criminal to speak?

Iran's representative stated: "What message does the UN General Assembly send to the Palestinian people when their leaders are banned from speaking here due to American obstruction, but the podium is given to a criminal responsible for the killing of 75,000 Palestinians? Beyond this, why does this Assembly not expel this regime from this organization by invoking Article 6 of the Charter for its continuous violation of the UN's principles?"

Referring to the issuance of the international arrest warrant for Netanyahu by the Hague Court, he stated: "Allowing a criminal to be present at this Assembly is fundamentally in conflict with the goals and principles of the UN. They are neither idealistic slogans nor selectively applicable to only some of its members. These binding principles, which form the foundations of the international legal order, have been continuously, deliberately, systematically, and institutionally violated by the Israeli regime. The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime commits genocide while playing the victim. This is a clear example of hypocrisy. This is reminiscent of their attempt to present their army as the 'most moral army in the world!'"

Iran's representative noted: "Of course, for him (Netanyahu), this is completely natural, because hypocrisy, playing the victim, distortion, and providing false information are inherent in him, just as infanticide, mass killing of people by extensive bombing of their homes, and genocide are also inherent in him. However, he cannot whitewash his crimes. His words do not cleanse his actions, do not invalidate the findings and orders of the courts, and do not erase his criminal record."

Asadi said: "From a historical perspective, occupation is in their DNA, aggression is in their blood, terrorism is in their nature, infanticide is their habit, extensive bombing of homes and destruction of houses over their inhabitants is their ancient tradition, apartheid is their established custom, war crimes are their amusement, genocide is their favorite act, crimes against humanity are their traditional business, deception, lies, and playing the victim are the main elements of their strategy, and Zionism is their charter of statehood."

He stated: "The imaginary goal of this regime is the establishment of the so-called Greater Israel. To this end, this regime systematically, simultaneously, and with ruthless violence commits all four major international crimes, namely aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. This regime has even crossed the most basic legal, moral, and human red lines and dragged the entire region into a destructive conflict. Its brutal crimes in Gaza, Lebanon, and other parts of our region over the past two years are only a small corner of its countless crimes."
