A former member of the Jordanian Parliament has issued a stark warning regarding the ongoing escalations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, characterizing the Israeli actions as a deliberate campaign to erase the Islamic identity of the Holy City.

In statements reported by the Palestine Information Center, Khalil Atieh, denounced the systematic encroachments on Al-Aqsa, describing them as an “overt Zionist aggression” against sacred sites.

He asserted that these violations are not merely isolated incidents but part of a calculated strategy to forcibly impose a new reality on the ground.

“The Zionist occupation forces are not content with merely occupying the land; they are actively seeking to alter the identity of the occupied Al-Quds and its sacred sites, attempting to dictate their own terms through brute force,” Atieh stated.

The former parliamentarian emphasized that the historical and legal status of these sacred sites is non-negotiable. He rejected any attempts by the occupying regime to determine the fate of these holy places, noting that they have no rightful claim to them.

Furthermore, Atieh criticized the prevailing international silence regarding these incursions. He warned that failing to confront these violations does not constitute neutrality; rather, it emboldens the occupying regime to continue its aggression. He cautioned that this ongoing provocation threatens the security and stability of the entire region.

Atieh concluded his remarks by reaffirming that the status quo of Al-Aqsa is protected by historical and legal frameworks that cannot be compromised or altered by the policies of the occupation.
