A group of scholars, seminary and university professors, and Shia and Sunni cultural and media activists of Afghanistan have issued a statement expressing their support for the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The statement reads: “The Islamic world today, more than ever, is in need of empathy, insight, and unity. Once again, we witnessed the reckless and insolent remarks of Donald Trump, the President of the United States, against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Remarks that are not only baseless and contrary to ethical and diplomatic norms, but also a continuation of hostile and divisive policies against the Islamic Ummah.
The world has clearly witnessed the unconditional support of the U.S. government and Donald Trump himself for the usurping and child‑killing Zionist regime—support under which thousands of defenseless men, women, and children in Gaza and Palestine have lost their lives, and homes, hospitals, and places of worship have been destroyed.
His repeated and explicit backing of Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel has not only cast serious doubt on the so‑called human rights standards claimed by the United States, but has once again revealed the true face of policies based on domination and double standards before the global public. This has deeply troubled awakened consciences and compelled free nations to reflect.
In the face of these bitter developments, the Islamic Republic of Iran—led by its wise, insightful, and courageous Leader—has firmly and openly stood by the people of Palestine, defending the cause of al‑Quds and its oppressed population. This stance is an expression of Islamic honor, religious responsibility, and the defense of human dignity—a position that has earned the respect of many free people across the world, beyond geographical borders and sectarian differences.
We, a group of Sunni and Shia scholars, seminary and university professors, intellectuals, cultural and media activists, and various segments of the faithful people of Afghanistan, hereby declare our firm and comprehensive support for the Supreme Leader (may his shadow be prolonged) and strongly condemn any insult, threat, or attempt to undermine his position.
We are confident that such actions will not weaken the resolve of Muslim nations; rather, they will strengthen their unity and awareness.
The Muslim and resilient nation of Afghanistan, which has endured years of war and injustice, today also stands alongside its Muslim brothers in the Islamic Republic of Iran and supports the shared causes of the Islamic Ummah—especially the defense of the oppressed people of Palestine.
We believe that the honor and strength of the Islamic Ummah will be realized through Shia‑Sunni unity, adherence to the Holy Qur’an, and steadfastness against oppression and extremism.
In conclusion, emphasizing the principle of Islamic brotherhood and the necessity of preserving the unity of the Ummah, we declare that no political or media pressure can weaken the deep bond between Muslim nations, and our support for the wise, insightful, and courageous leadership of the Islamic world will remain firm and enduring.”
