In an interview with the IRIB News Agency on Saturday, Baqaei said Iran has a bond of friendship with all countries in the region, but the attacks on US bases there, are in line with the legitimate self-defense.
Referring to the role of the United Nations in condemning and preventing the attacks on Iran, he said the UN Security Council should immediately convene and condemn the US-Israeli war of aggression.
Emphasizing that the Foreign Ministry has been in contact and consultations with regional and international officials soon after the launch of attacks on Iran, Baqaei said the actions of the Israeli regime and the United States are violation of all norms and international laws and are considered an obvious crime.
Stating that the act of aggression has no justification, the spokesperson urged the international community, regional states region, and the UN chief not to remain indifferent to these unprovoked and illegitimate attacks on Iran.
If these aggression and attacks are not condemned by the international community, it will be the beginning of the end for all international institutions, he warned.
Baqaei noted that the Iranian armed forces are defending the territorial integrity with determination, as a war is imposed on the country, which is not only a historical test for the people of Iran but also the region.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson underlined that Iran’s nuclear issue is simply a pretext to pile up pressure, as everyone has acknowledged the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
Baqaei further said that statements from American and Israeli officials justifying their attacks are blatant lies as they launched their aggression for the second time during diplomatic negotiations.
