: Akhund Maramaei in Interview with TNA
Akhund Ramin Maramaei, an expert in Islamic jurisprudence and law at the University of Islamic Denominations, stated that burning the Holy Qur’an amounts to self-destruction and aligning oneself with the camp of disbelief and servitude to the United States and what he described as the “illegitimate Israeli regime.”

“The Holy Qur’an is like a radiant sun whose light illuminates all humanity,” he said. “It resides in the depths of Muslims’ hearts and souls and is inseparable from their lives and spiritual identity.”
The scholar added metaphorically that “the sea is never rendered impure by a dog’s snout,” stressing that opportunistic and hypocritical individuals may rise within society, yet by pursuing personal interests and betraying their nation, they ultimately harm themselves.
Maramaei further emphasized that in Iran, the Qur’an enjoys profound respect and reverence. Verses of the Holy Book are recited at the beginning of national and religious ceremonies, and it serves as an adornment to gatherings and public events.
He concluded by noting that numerous memorizers and reciters of the Qur’an, benefiting from the country’s security and stability, continue to study and promote the teachings of Islam’s sacred scripture.
