The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has called on Muslims worldwide to strengthen unity and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in a message posted on his social media platform X, congratulated the “citizens of the Islamic nation” on the arrival of Ramadan, describing the month as one of blessings and compassion, Taqrib News Agency (TNA) reported.
He characterized Ramadan as a “unique month for proximity and compassion based on the Holy Qur’an.”
The message comes as Iranian religious authorities and jurists declared Thursday the first day of the fasting month.
In Iran, Muslims are preparing to begin fasting on Thursday as moonsighting committees observe the new moon, which determines the start of the Islamic lunar month.
