In an interview with the website of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Jafar Ghanadbashi said: On the one hand, we are witnessing the occasional engagement of the Israeli regime on its northern borders with the forces of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and on the other hand, the Ansarullah forces of Yemen since the beginning of this cruel war by targeting ships belonging to the Zionist regime, as well as the ships that were heading towards the Occupied Territories, have tried to react in some way in support of the oppressed people of Palestine.
He said: But in the past few days, the tension between the Zionist regime and Yemen has entered a new stage, and after Yemen’s Ansarullah drone attack on Tel Aviv, the Israeli regime’s fighters carried out airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port on Saturday. A port that is located in the part under the rule. This attack will change the equation between Israel and Yemen, and its consequences can be significant.
He said about the military tensions between the Israeli regime and Yemen: “The Zionist regime has never had such an enemy to go to war with from a distance.”
He clarified that Iran carried out attacks against the Zionist military facilities in Operation True Promise, But this attack was limited to military and telecommunications facilities. This is while the Yemeni Ansarullah drone attack on the center of the Israeli regime was carried out for the first time to disrupt the urban security of this regime.
He added: “Actually, the operation the Zionists carried out against Yemen was a response to the drone operation and an attempt to stop Yemen to prevent the repetition of such an operation.”
Ghanadbashi explained that the Zionist regime had several other goals for this action: “The first goal was to eliminate the perception of weakness and incapacity of the Israeli regime against such an operation inside and outside. The second goal was to show off the capabilities of remote bombing, and the third goal was to influence domestic public opinion and opposition parties.
According to this expert, based on what the Yemenis have announced, this operation of the Zionist regime would not have been possible without the help of the United States, England, and some regional parties. Most experts believe that this operation was carried out with the help of information and logistics from the countries of the region. However, these countries deny involvement in such an operation due to concern about Ansarullah’s reaction.
Regarding Yemen’s reaction to the Israeli regime’s attack on Hodeidah port, Ghandbashi also said: “The Yemenis, as in the past, but this time, of course, spoke more seriously about the unexpected and extensive operations against the Occupied Territories, and more importantly, the Yemeni authorities announced that they had entered into a direct war with the Zionist regime. That is, if earlier they targeted the ships whose origin and destination were the Occupied Territories, today they have announced that they have officially entered the war. Therefore, considering the legal issues of the war, we will probably see different conditions, and the Israelis will feel more worried than before.”
He also emphasized the view of the Israeli authorities on the expansion of tension on this front: “The government of the Israeli regime does not want to enter into a full-scale war, and it does not want full peace, that is, it prefers a situation of neither war nor peace.” Therefore, this phase of the Yemen operation can be very heavy for the Israelis facing different sides. Also, from a military point of view, the zionist regime lacks the necessary personnel to advance all its military goals.
Ghanadbashi pointed out that the hope of the Zionist regime lies in the aid of the United States and England. Moreover, in the past few days, there have been repeated bombings against Yemen by the United States and England. On the other hand, the authorities of the Zionist regime hope that Saudi Arabia will activate the front of the eight-year war with Yemen, that is, by creating movements on the borders and even inside Yemen, reducing Yemen’s resistance.
The expert on Middle East issues said: “In the meantime, some diplomatic moves have also been made, and according to the published news, Oman is pursuing a series of diplomatic measures to prevent the spread of Yemen’s actions.” In fact, the British and American officials have asked Oman to try to prevent them from re-operating against the occupied territories due to its neighborhood with Yemen and its connections with the Ansarullah group.
Ghanadbashi emphasized that different countries in the region do not welcome the spread expansion of the war: “But Yemen has promised to respond, and the Yemeni society inevitably expects a response. Because the war started by the Yemenis is very different from the wars in the history of the world.
This war has started to deliver aid, food, and medicine to the people and children of Gaza. This war naturally cannot be strongly condemned in the world because it has humanitarian goals. Therefore, it is difficult for the regional parties to limit Yemen or launch propaganda against it under the pretext of opposing the war.
He finally said: “However, due to the b distance between Yemen and the Occupied Territories, this war will be different from other wars, and despite the heavy blows inflicted on the Zionist regime, it probably won’t turn into a full-scale war.”
He said in conclusion: “However, due to the big distance between Yemen and the Occupied Territories, this war will be different from other wars, and despite the heavy blows inflicted on the Zionist regime, it will probably not become a large-scale war.”
