Latest From Iranian Cinema - “Salman the Persian”

TEHRAN -- The production team of “Salman the Persian” is continuing to film the Iranian season.
Producer Hussein Taheri announced that the set constructions are underway, aiming to extend the narrative of “Salman the Persian” into this pivotal era.
This season will explore the character’s origins in ancient Iran, highlighting the era’s civilization and science.
Taheri emphasized the high expectations for the depiction of ancient Iran, with costumes and massive sets being designed.
He revealed that a third of the construction for the Iran season is complete, with special visual effects planned for this season.
The narrative will then progress to the events following the Prophet’s departure, the conquests, and Salman’s death.
Filming for the Iran season will continue this year and next, with pre-production for the Hijaz season beginning this year.
Permanent locations have been built in Ghazali Cinema Town for the second season which will cover the events after Ghadir and Salman’s life until his death.
“Salman the Persian”, a historical series by Davoud Mir-Baqeri, began production in 2019 and is set to span 60 episodes in three seasons.

Director Saeed Soltani is finalizing the script for the Iranian series “Alimardan Khan”.
The series, being made in 30 episodes, tells the story of “Alimardan Khan”, a national hero who opposed foreign presence in Iran and was an opponent of Reza Shah. He was ultimately imprisoned and executed by the Pahlavi regime.
The series will depict significant historical events and the struggles of the Bakhtiari tribe.
Filming locations will include Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and Tehran, while some other specific sites are yet to be confirmed.
The production team will finish preparation of the sets, costumes, and props soon.
