Hamas politburo leader Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination by the Israeli regime during his visit to Tehran on Wednesday has triggered an avalanche of anger and outrage across the world.

Haniyeh was in the Iranian capital to attend Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian, where he was accompanied by other Axis of Resistance leaders.

The details of the assassination plot aren’t known yet, but the preliminary investigation points to the direct role of the Zionist entity and the green light from the Joe Biden administration in Washington.

Social media has been abuzz with a multitude of posts condemning the cowardly assassination and calling for strong and stern action against the illegitimate regime in Tel Aviv.

Many top-ranking government officials in the region have also strongly condemned the assassination as well as the breach of the Islamic Republic of Iran's sovereignty.

Many of them were present at President Pezeshkian's swearing-in ceremony with Haniyeh in Tehran on Tuesday.

Pertinently, the assassination of Haniyeh came a day after another targeted attack against a leader of the Hezbollah resistance movement in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon.

These attacks came days after Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu returned from his trip to the United States, where he was welcomed and applauded over the genocidal war crimes in Gaza.

Here are some of the reactions on social media regarding Haniyeh’s assassination.
