Iran parl. speaker
TEHRAN, (MNA) – Iranian parliament speaker blamed NATO and the United States for the continuation of the Ukraine conflict, adding that groups of countries such as BRICS can increase hope in the international community for a better future.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remarks in an address to the BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa on Wednesday.
The speaker reiterated Iran's position in opposing the war in Ukraine, saying that Iran has always called for a cessation of the conflict.
He blamed NATO and the United States for the continuation of the Ukraine conflict, saying that Washington has explicitly opposed the stop of the war.
Ghalibaf went on to note that NATO expansionism puts international peace and security in danger, stressing that there is a need for international groups of countries to restore hope to the international community for a better future.
He continued to note that Washington is waging a hybrid war against Iran as it does not dare a direct confrontation.
He explained that the United States in its hybrid war against Tehran has used different means such as media and propaganda warfare and economic sanctions to destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ghalibaf went on to call on the BRICS member states to establish an independent financial mechanism to serve the developing countries to achieve the goal of depolarization.
