Meshaal: Resistance Unites Palestinians, Negotiations Divide

RABAT (KI) – Head of Hamas resistance movement’s Political Bureau says resistance and uprisings unite Palestinians, while negotiations divide them, Quds Press reported.
The remarks by Khaled Meshaal came during a speech he delivered to a popular gathering organized by the Justice and Development Party in the Moroccan capital Rabat to celebrate Palestine’s “victory” against the Zionist regime’s army in Gaza.
“Running after the mirage of negotiations [with the Zionist regime] means death,” he said, “while resistance of the occupation is life, dignity and honor.”
The Hamas leader reiterated that all the Palestinians “are united behind their resistance.”
This, he explained, is “the real national unity which is based on the rights and principles of our people, as well as the open-ended confrontation with the occupation.”
At least 248 Palestinians were killed in the Zionist regime’s military strikes on the besieged Gaza strip before Tel Aviv was forced to cease fire.
The latest escalation was triggered earlier this month by the occupying regime’s troops who forced Palestinian families to vacate their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, followed by a violent onslaught on worshipers at the sacred al-Aqsa Mosque.
Gaza-based Hamas resistance movement retaliated those acts of aggression, and the occupying regime started conducting strikes against civilian areas in the besieged territory, including high-rise buildings housing residential apartments and media offices.
In the latest development, the occupying regime’s finance minister, Israel Katz, has threatened to assassinate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, after the resistance figure made a public appearance in a rally in Gaza to celebrate the triumph in the 11-day Israeli war.
Rattled by the defeat inflicted by the Palestinian resistance movement, Katz, who is also a close ally of Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said brazenly in an interview to Israeli media that the regime “will come for Yahya Sinwar’s head” if there is a “slightest breach” of the ceasefire between the two sides.
Katz said Sinwar had not been given immunity from the regime’s assassination as part of the ceasefire deal.
He demanded the return of the bodies of Zionist troops and captives, who he claimed were being held by Hamas.
