Semnan, IRNA - Ancient city of Semnan in north central Iran is rich in artistic and cultural works; therefore, setting up cultural passages seems to be necessary to revitalize tourism industry.

Given its historical and cultural capacity, Semnan Province enjoys a good opportunity to set up cultural passages. Handicrafts, pottery, kilim weaving, and other art works of the province are among the collections that could be showcased in such passages.

The Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance prioritizes cooperation with municipalities to establish creative cities and cultural passages, Fallah added.

Hamid-Reza Doust-Mohammadi, the chairman of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Semnan Province, noted that setting up cultural passages will help thrive art and culture, which could turn such places into cultural hubs.

Mohammad Hemmati, the head of the Cultural and Social Commission of the Islamic Council of city of Semnan, said the establishment of cultural passages will pave the ground for development, social interactions and cultural elevation of the society.
