IQNA – The Lebanese Muslim Scholars Association emphasized in a statement that the Venezuelan people will thwart the US conspiracy, adding that independent and sovereign countries should come together to confront this American tyranny and form a strategic coalition.
According to Al-Nahar, the association issued the following statement regarding the US aggression against Venezuela and its threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran:
It seems that the arrogance that has gripped US President Donald Trump has led him to a decision devoid of any respect for international law and the choice of nations, and that the American enemy has launched a widespread war against the independent state of Venezuela. From the American perspective, Venezuela’s crime is its refusal to submit to the American will and allow its resources and wealth to be plundered by American companies.
US forces have launched a series of violent attacks against Venezuela, bombing at least 11 targets, including the Venezuelan parliament. This forced President Nicolas Maduro to declare a state of emergency. US forces then kidnapped him and his wife. Several countries have condemned this aggression, which is plunging the world into the law of the jungle. Through this aggression, Donald Trump wants to send a message to all those who oppose him politically: that their fate will be the occupation and capture of the symbol of national sovereignty. This approach coincides with the anniversary of the assassination of the martyred general Qassem Soleimani and his companion Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and this is not a coincidence, but rather a confirmation of this American approach.
The Venezuelan people and their elected leadership will thwart the US conspiracy. This US aggression will forces independent and sovereign countries to unite against this American tyranny and form a strategic coalition. We, in the gathering of Muslim scholars, believe that China, Russia and Iran should lead such a movement.
At the same time, Donald Trump has (made threats against Iran). This indicates his intention to intervene in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as he did in Venezuela. Therefore, we must be vigilant and prepared for such an intervention, which may be imminent if the plan of the American enemy is not thwarted by the vigilance of the Venezuelan and Iranian people. Those who are on the streets of Iran, pretending to be in good faith because of their protest against certain economic policies, must be careful not to let their movement be exploited to destroy the country. Iran is strong and capable of resistance, and the US effort in Iran will fail, just as it did in Venezuela.
The association also calls on the people of Iran and Venezuela to take to the streets in their millions in support of the legitimate governments of both countries against US aggression and arrogance. What Donald Trump is doing is another nail in the coffin of US policy that will lead to its downfall and with it all its allies, including the usurping Zionist regime, whose time of destruction has begun.
