Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has congratulated Nicolás Maduro, stating, "The people spoke and the Revolution won."

Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro has secured a third term, receiving 51% of the vote and defeating his rival Edmundo Gonzalez, who garnered 44%.

Here are the reactions to his historic win from around the world:

Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said Monday he spoke with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro to congratulate him on a "historic" victory.

"I spoke with brother Nicolas Maduro to convey warm congratulations on behalf of the party, the government and the Cuban people for the historic electoral triumph achieved, after an impressive showing by the Venezuelan people," Diaz-Canel wrote on social media platform X.

"Nicolas Maduro, my brother, your victory, which is that of the Bolivarian and Chavista people, has cleanly and unequivocally defeated the pro-imperialist opposition. They also defeated the regional, interventionist and Monroist right. The people spoke and the Revolution won," he stressed.

Nicaragua

The Nicaraguan government, for its part, issued a message from President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo to President Maduro, congratulating him on "the great victory achieved by this heroic people for the eternal leader on his birthday," referring to the 70th anniversary of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez's birth.

Bolivia

Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce also congratulated his Venezuelan counterpart, stating, "We have closely followed this democratic festival and we welcome the fact that the will of the Venezuelan people at the polls has been respected. We want to ratify our willingness to continue strengthening our ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela."

Ecuador

In Ecuador, former President Rafael Correa stated that Venezuela's victory reflects a strong commitment to building a 21st-century coalition, saying, "Glory to the brave people."

Russia and Iran pledge strategic ties with Caracas

On his part, Russian Ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Bogdansarov, stated that Maduro's victory in the Venezuelan presidential elections would strengthen his government's position globally. He confirmed that Russia will continue to develop strategic partnership relations with Caracas.

Bogdansarov said as quoted by Sputnik, "The results of the presidential election in the country can be considered credible," and that the outcome will contribute to further enhancing Nicolas Maduro's administration's standing on the international stage, as well as strengthening Venezuela's position in the emerging multipolar world.

In the same context, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani also congratulated Venezuela's people, government, and newly elected President on successfully conducting the presidential elections. He mentioned that the elections were held with popular participation and under the supervision of hundreds of international observers from various countries, institutions, and organizations, despite some unjust and unfair threats and sanctions imposed on the country.

Kanaani affirmed that Iran renews its support and solidarity with Venezuela in the context of strengthening national development programs and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
