Resistance axis more cohesive than ever despite Western media narrative

An Iraqi cultural and media activist has said the Resistance Axis is more cohesive than ever and, contrary to Western media narratives, has not been weakened but is moving toward victory, drawing strength from faith, public awareness and what she described as divine promise.

Rawafed al-Yaseri, head of the Ummah Without Borders organization in Norway and a founding member of the Resistance Voice Forum for intellectual and media elites, made the remarks in an interview with the AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA).

She described the Resistance Axis as a symbol of dignity and steadfastness against global hegemony, oppression and domination, saying it extends from Iran and Yemen to Lebanon, Iraq and Gaza.

“Today, resistance is at the height of its cohesion,” al-Yaseri said, stressing that resistance remains the only strategic option for freedom-seeking nations and expressing confidence that their adversaries will ultimately be defeated.

Al-Yaseri also criticized Western media coverage of the region, accusing mainstream outlets of distorting realities and portraying resistance movements as “terrorist” or “illegal groups.”

She argued that changing media conditions have made it increasingly difficult for mainstream outlets to shape public opinion as they did in the past. According to al-Yaseri, the rapid dissemination of information and the growing ability of people to access different sources have enabled audiences to examine events more critically.

She said this shift has forced even some mainstream media outlets to report aspects of what she described as the suffering of people across the region.

Al-Yaseri emphasized the importance of developing an independent narrative to counter what she called the media apparatus of global hegemony. She also highlighted the role of women in the Resistance Axis and the need for greater attention to “jihad of clarification” — efforts to explain developments and counter misinformation through media and cultural activities.

She concluded that the narrative promoted by Western media is gradually losing influence, arguing that the “front of truth” represents oppressed peoples and that divine support would ultimately ensure that they are not left without assistance.
