Arab Parliament Condemns Israel’s Plan to Unilaterally Control Rafah Crossing

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Mohammed Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, said that Israel’s move to impose unilateral control over Rafah is aimed at the forced displacement of Gaza’s residents.

He stated that this action constitutes a grave breach of international humanitarian law, a blatant violation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, and a clear attempt to impose new realities on the ground aligned with Israel’s plan to eliminate the Palestinian cause.
Al-Yamahi stressed that any attempt to unilaterally control Rafah is a deliberate policy to displace large numbers of Palestinians under siege and bombardment. He warned that such an act amounts to war crimes and contradicts international agreements affirming the unity of Palestinian territories and the right of Palestinians to remain in their homeland.

He noted that the commitments made at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit are being violated, including blocking humanitarian aid, targeting areas designated as safe zones, and expanding military operations in Gaza.

The Speaker called for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, an end to civilian suffering, unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the launch of reconstruction efforts.
Al-Yamahi emphasized that Gaza must be prepared for its residents to live with dignity in their homeland, not forced displacement. He concluded that the only path to security and stability lies in respecting international agreements, ending Israel’s aggression immediately, ensuring full humanitarian access, and initiating a serious political process leading to the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
