Pezeshkian highlights focus on Sistan and Baluchistan’s development

TEHRAN – Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian has underscored the importance of Sistan and Baluchistan province to Iran’s national development strategy, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to addressing the region’s challenges.

On Tuesday, Masoud Pezeshkian, during the session with the Strategic Council members of Sistan and Baluchistan Province, underscored the unique approach of the fourteenth government towards the southeastern region, recognizing it as a critical area for the nation's developmental strategy. 

Pezeshkian pointed out, “Sistan and Baluchistan Province, strategically positioned along the international North-South Corridor and near the vital Makran region, holds considerable potential for national growth. Consequently, the government is actively addressing the province's challenges every week through a dedicated working group.”

Pezeshkian stressed the importance of collaboration among security and law enforcement agencies at the borders to improve security measures and prevent terrorist activities.

Iran’s president remarked, “Currently, the Sistan and Baluchistan region possesses significant potential for regional trade, and we must ensure that terrorist incidents do not hinder this progress.”

Judiciary chief warns of severe consequences for elements involved in Taftan terrorist incident

During a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the chief of Iran's Judiciary, emphasized that all individuals connected to the Taftan terrorist incident will be held accountable. 

Mohseni Ejei specifically referenced the malicious actions of the terrorist group Jaish al-Zulm in Sistan and Baluchistan, which resulted in the deaths of over ten police officers and conscripts.

Mohseni Ejei further stated that anyone who aids terrorists or contributes to the disruption of public security by providing them with resources or information will be considered complicit in these criminal acts and will face firm legal repercussions.

On Saturday, the terrorist group Jaish al-Zulm launched a terrorist attack on a police battalion in Taftan, leading to the martyrdom of ten police personnel and conscripts. 

Additionally, the Judiciary chief condemned the Israeli regime's aggression against Iran's sovereignty and extended condolences to the families of the fallen Army personnel, asserting that the actions of the Zionists will not go unanswered. 

Mohseni Ejei reiterated that, as stated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, a decisive and appropriate response will be delivered at the appropriate time.

In the early hours of Saturday, October 26, the Israeli regime conducted missile strikes on several military facilities in Iran, causing limited damage, most of which was mitigated by the Army's air defense systems. Tragically, four military personnel lost their lives in this assault.
