Calm in Tehran after Largely Unsuccessful Israeli Military Action

Alwaght- Early morning today, despite the escalatory Israeli actions in Iran, the conditions in Iranian cities including the capital Tehran have been fully calm. Over the past few days, Israel had threatened to launch heavy-handed attacks on Iran, but its actions seem inconsistent with its threats.

Narrative of Israeli escalatory actions in Iran 

Here is an Israeli and American narrative of the escalation against Iran:

Israeli military: We targeted several missile production facilities. 

White House National Security Adviser: The US was not involved in the operation. 

Axios news website citing informed sources: Before attack, Israel sent a message to Tehran and asked Iran through a third party to limit the exchange of attacks and prevent the escalation of tensions. Israel has already specified for Iran in general which sites it will attack. 

The US: We call for Iran not to respond. Israeli action ended. 

Reactions to Israeli escalation 

Users on social media platform X have reacted to the Israeli attack. 

Anis Mansour, an Arab user, mocked the attack, saying: "The purpose of this attack was to wake people up for morning prayers! A month of threats! A week of leaking attack information!! The result is only firecrackers and balloons?!! And 100 planes! Israel is finished and fallen and this regime is on the way to destruction.

Yemen official: Israel's attack on Iran was weak and limited. The deputy head of the Spiritual Guidance Department of Yemen has said that the disappointment in the studios of some Arab news networks is evident due to the weakness of the attack [of Israel against Iran]. This is Israel's first military attack on a non-Arab country, but it appears to be moderate and limited."

Russian information of attack: Russia had informed Iran of attack hours before it launch, according to Sky News Arabia. 

Iran is well and calm

Just against Tel Aviv's expectation, the escalatory action of Israel has not substantially impacted Iran's social atmosphere. 

American media: Iranian streets are calm. CNN in reaction to the Israeli attack on Iranian soil said that the streets of Iran is in peace after the attack.

Sports events to be held as arranged: Referring to the peace in the country and expressing gratitude to the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Sports and Youth announced that sports competitions will be held in the country according to the predetermined schedule. 

Mahshahr petrochemical complex safe and operating: According to field reports, the Mahshahr petrochemical complex in southern province of Khuzestan is operating well and in peace. 

Tehran Refinery not attacked: Shaker Khafaei, the spokesman of Tehran Refinery, has denied the news that this refinery was targeted in this morning's Israeli attack. Mr. Khafaei told Tasnim news agency: "There was no attack on the facilities of this refinery and the production in this refining sector of the country continues as usual."

Schools open across the country: Ali Farhadi, the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Education, announced that all schools across the country. "The process of education is going on normally," ISNA cited Farhadi. 

Petrol provided non-stop: The head of Iranian Petrol Station Owners' Association said that the country has not seen a considerable petrol consumption. There is not problem in providing petrol . Petrol stations are operating normally, according to the union's spokesman. 

Al Arabiya: life normal in Tehran: In a report from Tehran, Al-Arabiya news network said that morning pictures from the heart of Tehran show normal activity. The passage of cars is normal and there are no signs of abnormal conditions and congestion. There are no scenes showing confusion as a result of the Israeli attacks. Rather, life is normal. 

US dollar stops rallying and starts dropping: The US dollar, which in recent weeks rallied due to the increase in political tensions in the region and negative news and had advanced up to the channel of 690,000 rial, began to lose its gains in forex market, dropping to 660,000 rial. 

Stock market ridicules Israeli action: On Saturday morning and after the Iranian media reported that an Israeli military action was neutralized with effective air defenses, the stock market grew all green, gaining 9,272 points.
