By participating in the millions on February 11 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution, the people of Iran have delivered a tight slap on the face of American officials.
The Americans had predicted that the Islamic Republic would not last till its 40thyear. John Bolton, the man with the thick moustache, and national security advisor to Donald Trump, had made this arrogant claim at a munafiqeen rally in Paris in August 2017.
“And that’s why, before 2019, we here will celebrate in Tehran!” he had told a gathering of the terrorist outfit, the Mujahideen-e Khalq Organization (MKO) that is better known as the munafiqeen-e khalq.
There were other American officials as well at the terrorist rally including Rudy Giuliani who was reportedly paid $50,000 for a 15-minute appearance.
In Iran, rallies were held throughout the country. The largest rally by far was at Azadi Square in Tehran where hundreds of thousands had gathered since the early morning braving rain and cold weather.
People came with their families including children and elderly parents to show support for the revolution.
In Hamedan, even the heavy snowfall did not deter people from coming out. There were also huge rallies in Shiraz, Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad, Kermanshah, Khurramshahr, Hovezeh, Arak and Qum in addition to many other cities.
Political leaders as well as Revolutionary Guards’ commanders addressed these rallies and warned the US and Zionist Israel that if they attempted to indulge in any foolish acts against the Islamic Republic, there would be a fitting response.
In addition to Iran, there were anniversary celebrations in other parts of the world as well. In Toronto, there was a huge anniversary celebration program at which hundreds of people participated.
Three days before the anniversary celebrations, the Rahbar, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei addressing air force commanders had said that Iranians will continue to chant the slogan, “Death to America”.
Explaining the reason the Rahbar said this was because American officials have pursued an aggressive and arrogant policy toward the Islamic Republic.
The Rahbar further explained that when Iranians chant “Death to America” they mean American officials like Trump, Bolton and Pompeo, and not the American people.
During speeches, Iranian officials also vowed that the people and leadership will defeat the unjust American sanctions.
The Islamic Republic has made great strides in many fields including scientific research, medicine, education and defense despite decades of sanctions.
Iran is one of 10 countries to have put its own satellite into space. It is one of the leading countries in the world in stem cell research and its scientific progress is three times greater than other countries in the world.
Similarly, Islamic Iran has emerged as the pre-eminent regional power. It not only defeated the ISIS terrorists but successfully defeated US-Zionist policies in Syria and Iraq.
As long as Iran remains committed to the principles of Islam and the ideals outlined by Imam Khomeini, it will continue to make progress.
