Anger keeps boiling in Pakistan over live broadcast of Trump’s speech at Israeli Knesset

Calls grow in Pakistan for actions against TV channels that broadcast the Israeli parliament session live, in defiance of the country’s ideology in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Several Pakistani TV channels broadcast the US president’s speech in Israeli parliament live on October 13, 2025.
Islamabad, IRNA – Pakistani television channels are facing strong criticisms from the country’s political figures and activists for the live coverage of US President Donald Trump’s rhetoric-filled speech in the Israeli parliament, known as Knesset.

“Shocking and shameful” said Shireen Mazari, a political commentator and the former minister for human rights in Pakistan as she reacted to the live broadcast of Trump’s speech on Monday.

Mazari noted that the people and the government of Pakistan do not recognize the rogue Israel, and therefore; how could the parliamentary session of “a terrorist regime” was broadcast live. “Have we forgotten the genocide of the Palestinians,” she asked.

Nader Baloch, a social media activist, said it was for the first time in history that the Israeli parliament live was live on Pakistani channels.

The Imamia Students Organization Pakistan, commonly known as the ISO Pakistan, while praising the Palestinian resistance for imposing their demands on the Israeli regime, condemned the live broadcast of Trump’s Knesset speech. “We consider it contrary to the ideals of the Islamic Ummah and Pakistan’s fundamental ideology in supporting the Palestinian cause,” it said.

The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, a politico-religious party of Pakistan, in a statement, urged the country’s Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to take serious action against TV networks, saying it is not only the height of journalistic immorality, but also a clear defiance of Pakistan’s ideological identity.

"Don’t turn Pakistan into an American settlement,” was the reaction of Shaheer Haider Malik, the chairman Pakistan Nazriyati Party. He also slammed Trump’s anti-Iran and anti-Resistance rhetoric in his speech and demanded that the live broadcasters be held accountable, stressing, “If you don’t have an answer, you should resign.”

Sabir Abu Maryam, the secretary general of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan called the live broadcast of the Knesset against “the historical thoughts of the late founder of Pakistan about Palestine.”

Meanwhile, Trump’s own show as a peacemaker has sparked criticisms, with Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, one of Pakistan’s most prominent Islamic scholars, calling him an accomplice in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians.
