Israel’s Attacks on Hospitals: A Strategy to Perpetuate Genocide in Gaza

Israel’s attack on Al-Nasser Hospital in Gaza is not only a war crime but also a sign of its intelligence failure. Despite claiming to have the highest level of intelligence and security, instead of precisely targeting individuals, they bombed an entire hospital to cover up their crime.

Nournews: Once again, the Zionist regime has ignored international laws and launched brutal attacks on Gaza, leaving thousands dead and wounded. In its latest crime, the Israeli army bombed Al-Nasser Hospital, not only martyring Ismail Barhoum, a member of Hamas' political bureau, but also massacring dozens of patients and medical staff. This attack is a clear example of Israel’s deliberate policy of killing civilians and destroying vital Palestinian infrastructure—an outright violation of the Geneva Conventions and a full-fledged war crime.

A Hospital Is Not a Battlefield!

Under international law, hospitals and medical centers are civilian and safe zones, and targeting them is considered a war crime. Yet, the Zionist regime bombed Al-Nasser Hospital without hesitation. Their claim that a Hamas commander was present in the hospital is nothing more than a ridiculous justification for this inhumane act. Even if a member of a resistance group were hospitalized there, bombing the entire facility has no legal or moral justification. This crime is not just an indiscriminate attack on civilians but part of Israel’s strategy to exert maximum pressure on the people of Gaza by depriving them of medical services.

Destroying Medical Infrastructure: A Systematic Strategy

The bombing of Al-Nasser Hospital is not an isolated case. Over the past 17 months, Israel has systematically targeted medical facilities. Al-Sadaqa, Al-Ma'madani, Kamal Adwan, and Al-Shifa hospitals are just a few of the medical centers that have come under attack. The Zionists have even targeted ambulances and shot medical personnel in hospital courtyards. In many instances, the wounded have been executed and buried in mass graves. These actions show that attacking hospitals is not a military mistake but a systematic strategy to spread terror among Palestinians and dismantle Gaza’s medical infrastructure.

Israel’s Intelligence Deception

A common tactic of the Zionist regime is fabricating intelligence to justify its crimes. Israeli officials have repeatedly claimed that hospitals and schools serve as Hamas bases, but these allegations have been repeatedly debunked. The UN and human rights organizations have proven that many of the so-called Hamas commanders Israel claims to have killed in these facilities were previously listed as deceased by Israel itself, and some have even reappeared alive in prisoner exchanges! Moreover, Israel’s claim that military facilities exist beneath hospitals is another blatant lie. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has openly admitted that some of the tunnels Israel now claims are Hamas bases were actually built by Israel itself before its withdrawal from Gaza in 2005.

Western Silence: A Hypocritical Approach to Human Rights

The attack on Al-Nasser Hospital has once again exposed the West’s true stance on human rights. The same countries that issue urgent resolutions over minor incidents remain silent in the face of this atrocity. Not only has there been no serious response from the UN and international organizations, but Western media have also censored this attack, attempting to shift the focus away from the crime itself and instead emphasize the death of a Hamas member. This double standard proves that, for Western powers, human rights are nothing more than a tool to advance their political interests.
