When the Israeli Zionist regime practices this unpunished and uninterrupted genocide, I recall the symbolism of sacred Jerusalem, the resistance capital of Palestine, and what it has represented throughout the centuries for the Palestinian people, as the land of divine revelations for humanity and the native land of the Arab people.
During its long existence, Jerusalem has witnessed destructive scenes identical to those practiced by the Zionist regime over the past 78 years and, in Gaza, razed with bombs offered by the USA. Jerusalem has been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times and captured and recaptured 44 times, being reborn by the hands of its resilient and courageous people.
Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank are an integral part of historical Palestine, with their proven millennial ties from the River to the Sea. Jews have never dominated Jerusalem for a considerable time. Israel’s insistence on making Jerusalem the “unified capital” of the Zionist Occupation violates International Law and various UN Resolutions on the subject.
Not by chance, the Zionist regime has adopted the pretext that UN decisions are “anti-Israeli” and a persecution of the “only democracy in the Middle East” and, therefore, it does not comply with the Resolutions that oblige it to respect International Law, with the support of the USA in the UN Security Council.
The pro-Zionist media insists on this refrain of the “only democracy in the Middle East”, although we know that “Israel” is governed by a fascist regime, with practices that resemble Nazism. It is a “democratic” country only for Zionists. And an apartheid for Palestinians, whether they are Christians or Muslims.
Israel knows that, from the perspective of International Law, the UN Charter, international conventions, the Rome Statute and dozens of Resolutions from the UN General Assembly and Security Council, Jerusalem does not belong to it, that the Territories occupied since 1948 do not belong to it.
The genocide in Gaza is part of the permanent Nakba that aims to eliminate the Arab presence they detest. The ongoing plan for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is an affront to humanity and the millennial legacy of the Holy City, against which millions of people annually mobilise from all corners to declare their solidarity with Jerusalem.
Palestine – Jerusalem, and Gaza, in particular, are symbols of the struggle against oppression. It is an example for all peoples fighting for peace, against occupations, colonialism, segregation and imperialist interference in their countries. It symbolises the cause of a people that the world has been unable to resolve and ensure their rights. A people whose land continues to suffer the worst types of segregation, genocide and injustices in history.
Not by chance, one of the first declarations of Imam Khomeini, leader of the victorious popular Islamic Revolution, was unconditional support for the liberation of Palestine. To this end, he established the last Friday of the sacred month of Ramadan as the “World Day of Al-Quds” (Jerusalem), to demonstrate that the Palestinian cause is an international issue of sovereignty and human rights, the symbolic day when every oppressed confronts their oppressor.
The liberation of Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem, is essentially a humanitarian cause that has taken on new contours since the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle. Since 1948, millions of Palestinians have been murdered or expelled from their homes, lands and places of life and work by a regime that violates Palestinians’ rights.
Jerusalem is a Heritage of Humanity and the land in whose soil rest the mortal remains of thousands of prophets and fighters for justice. It is the land of Abraham, Moses and Jesus and a sacred city for the three main Abrahamic religions, which has welcomed Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Armenian communities for centuries, living peacefully and tolerantly, until the arrival of European Zionist Jews in 1948.
Israel uses its total military force and the integral support of the USA, Europe and Arab traitors to exterminate the original people, in a continuous attempt to seize the lands of the besieged Gaza Strip. Despite this, it has failed in all attempts to destroy the Resistance, take Gaza and recover the hostages.
In an attempt to wipe Palestine off the map, Israel has turned the entire world into a Palestine. Tens of millions of people have been mobilising in the streets of major cities in support of the Palestinian people. By trying to besiege the people of Gaza, Zionism has besieged itself and seems to be in terminal decline, making 7 October, 2023, the beginning of the end of the Zionist colonial project in Palestine.
Even in the face of asymmetric confrontation, the Palestinian Resistance forces have emerged stronger, more rooted in the population, better militarily prepared and with important popular support in Gaza, the West Bank and worldwide. The prisoner exchanges were a demonstration of Zionist moral and military defeat and a victory for the Palestinian people, despite the high number of martyrs and the destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure.
The Palestinian people and their heroic Resistance will remain firm on the path traced by the martyrs, until Palestine is liberated, from the River to the Sea.
