AL-QUDS (IQNA) – A Palestinian political analyst referred to resistance and the unified stance of Muslim countries as the only way to confronting the Zionist regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking in an interview with IQNA, Hassan Lafi deplored the silence of Arab governments on the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, saying their ties with the US and American alliances has undermined their stances.
He noted that in a recent summit held in Cairo about Gaza, the Arab governments failed to come to a united stance even in the final statement, a stance that would force the international community to stop the Israeli crimes.
He said the practical way for putting an end to the Zionist regime’s atrocities in the Gaza Strip is the adoption of a unified stance by Arab and Muslim governments and people along with the continuation of the Palestinian resistance.
He said Arab countries that have normalized ties with the Israeli regime must sever the ties with the Tel Aviv regime as well as with the US government, which is the main supporter of the Israeli regime and a partner in its war crimes in Gaza.
If Washington sees its interests in danger and feels that a regional war could be the result of continued Israeli crimes, it would certainly pressure the Zionist regime to stop the human tragedy in Gaza, he stated.
As for the future of the current conflict in occupied Palestine, he said the situation is moving toward escalation of the crisis, especially after Zionist forces started a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
He added, however, that the Palestinian résistance, which surprised the world with its Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched on October 7, is definitely ready for every scenario.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lafi denounced the Israeli regime’s attacks on mosques, churches and hospitals, saying the occupation regime knows no limit to brutality and seeks to destroy the identity and heritage of the Palestinian people.
The bombing of the oldest church in the Gaza Strip and tens of mosques in the region as well as hospitals in which hundreds of people and the wounded have taken refuge shows that the Zionist regime is not committed to any moral principles and international laws, he stated.
He also referred to Israel’s move to tighten the siege on the Gaza Strip and preventing food, water, medicine and fuel from entering the coastal enclave, describing it as a war crime.
The Palestinian Hamas resistance group waged Al-Aqsa Flood Operation against Israel on October 7 in response to Israel’s continued atrocities and its acts of desecration against al-Aqsa Mosque.
Hamas’ operation included missile attacks on Israeli cities and ground assaults on settlements near Gaza.
Israeli then began its campaign of killing and destruction in Gaza that has continued unabated. The Israeli attacks on Gaza have so far killed more than 10,000 Palestinians and left over 23,000 others wounded, according to the Palestinian ministry.
