TEHRAN (IQNA) – The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) condemned desecration of Islam’s Holy Book in Sweden and Denmark.
In a statement released on Tuesday, it said such sacrilegious and offensive acts show the continuation of hostility toward Islam and disregard for the beliefs of hundreds of millions of Muslims in the world.
Such inhuman and immoral moves that violate international laws are taken with the support of Western and Zionist plotters and are aimed at undermining Islam and the beliefs of followers of divine religions, the statement added.
Citing Verse 33 of Surah At-Tawbah, “It is God Who sent His Messenger with guidance and a true religion that will prevail over all other religions, even though the pagans may dislike it,” the WFPIST said such disgusting theatrical measures will never weaken the devotion of faithful Muslims to the divine book but will rather strengthen their devotion.
The statement also called on international bodies to take serious and decisive stances to prevent such offensive moves from happening again.
In a latest act of sacrilege in Europe, - Islamophobes set fire to a copy of the Quran in front of the Egyptian and Turkish embassies in Copenhagen on Tuesday.
It came following similar Quran desecration incidents in the Danish and Swedish capitals in recent weeks that have drawn widespread condemnations from Muslim world nations and governments.
There have been massive protests in Muslim countries like Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Yemen against insults to Islamic sanctities in Europe.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that people who desecrate the Quran should face the most severe punishment.
