Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri-Moghaddam talks to IRNA reporter in Islamabad, June 23, 2026

Islamabad, IRNA –Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, emphasizing the growing interactions and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, commends the people of Pakistan for their unparalleled support for the Iranian nation during the US-Israeli imposed war.

In an interview with IRNA in Islamabad on Tuesday, Amiri-Moghaddam addressed a number of issues related to bilateral relations, including the goals and message of the latest visit by President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan.

He said that Pezeshkian’s trip is the continuation of the upward trend in relations between the two brotherly countries, with the officials of both sides eagerly pursuing all aspects of bilateral cooperation.

Calling the support of Pakistanis for Iran and its forces “unparalleled” and “uprising-like”, the envoy hailed the people of the southeastern neighbor for their courage, especially their unanimity in securing the rights of the Iranian nation during the imposed war.

Amiri-Moghaddam underlined that the Pakistani government and nation could easily be considered a true partner in Iran’s powerful and decisive victory over “the Zionist-American enemy” and their Western allies.

Emphasizing the continued pursuit of the rights of the Iranian people, the ambassador noted that Pezeshkian, in line with the foreign policy priority, will also discuss with Pakistani officials ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.

He also referred to the recently-signed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, saying the efforts of political and military leadership of Pakistan helped prevent the crisis created by the US and the Israeli regime from turning into a greater disaster in the region.

Amiri-Moghaddam noted that the MoU was the outcome of the Iranian nation’s victory against “the Western arrogance and the Zionist regime” and was achieved following the path of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and under the guidance of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.

The ambassador spoke to the IRNA reporter as President Pezeshkian embarks on his second visit to Islamabad, where he will hold separate meetings with senior Pakistani officials to exchange views on the most important issues of concern to the two countries and ways to strengthen cooperation in different fields.
