Once again, the blood-stained hands of imperialist and Zionist criminals emerged from their sleeves, and this time they martyred the great, revolutionary, and farsighted leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, depriving the heroic people of Iran of the blessing of his profound thought, wise leadership, and legendary resistance. Undoubtedly, the name of this great national hero of Iran will forever shine at the summit of the liberation struggles of the people of Iran and the world, and, like a torch, will illuminate the path of all fighters striving for the liberation of humanity from the yoke of imperialism.
The aim of the enemies in committing this great anti-human crime was to deprive the people and the heroic fighters of Iran on the front lines of the imposed unequal war, of the presence of a leader who—despite all internal problems and obstructions—guided the ship of Iran’s revolution through every storm and whirlpool for four decades and placed revolutionary Iran in a position respected by all genuine revolutionaries of the world, and as a key factor in the transition toward a multipolar world.
A few days before his martyrdom, the martyred Leader of the Revolution had correctly described the 12-day war of the United States and Israel against Iran, and the organized internal disturbances that followed it, as a “sedition” and an attempt to carry out a “coup” in the Islamic Republic of Iran:
Regarding this sedition, let me tell you in one word: my dear ones! What happened was a ‘coup’ that failed. It was not the case, as some assume, that a number of young or not-so-young people somewhere became angry, made a move, took some action, staged a protest or unrest. No, it was more than that—it was a coup. However, this coup was crushed under the feet of the Iranian nation….

Following the failure of the first phase of the project to overthrow the State of the Islamic Republic of Iran through the 12-day war and then the violent and bloody disturbances of the month of February, imperialism and Zionism shifted their focus to the next phase of the “sedition”: organizing a coup through Western-aligned agents within and around the ruling establishment—by assassinating the Leader of the Revolution and the architect of the Islamic Republic’s resistance policy, and then purging the defenders of resistance from the institutions of State power in Iran.
However, despite this great crime, the enemy’s arrow struck a rock once again. The leaders of the Islamic Republic and the people of Iran decisively suffocated this criminal conspiracy at its inception. By intensifying resistance on the war fronts on the one hand, and electing Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the trusted son and close companion of the martyred Leader of the Revolution, on the other, they once again proved the historic statement of Iran’s martyred Leader that “the Iranian nation will not surrender!”
The first message of the new Leader of the Islamic Republic to the people of Iran also confirmed the correctness of the historic decision of the Assembly of Experts and the subsequent endorsement of that decision by the country’s millions. In this historic message hew demonstrated that the forced absence of Iran’s martyred Leader is merely a physical and material condition, and that his line and policy of resistance will continue under the new Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran:

Dear fighting brothers! The will of the masses of the people is the continuation of effective and regret-inducing defense. Certainly, the policy of blocking the Strait of Hormuz must continue to be used. Studies have been conducted regarding opening other fronts where the enemy has little experience and where it will be highly vulnerable, and these may be activated should the state of war continue, and if circumstances require it.
Likewise … we consider the countries of the Resistance Front to be our best friends, and the cause of resistance and the Resistance Front is an inseparable part of the values of the Islamic Revolution. Without doubt, the cooperation of the components of this front with one another shortens the path toward overcoming the Zionist sedition; just as we have seen how courageous and faithful Yemen did not abandon the defense of the oppressed people of Gaza; how the devoted Hezbollah, despite all obstacles, has come to the aid of the Islamic Republic; and how the Iraqi resistance has bravely followed the same path.…
I assure everyone that we will not refrain from avenging the blood of your martyrs. The revenge we have in mind is not limited to the martyrdom of the great Leader of the Revolution; every member of the nation who is martyred by the enemy constitutes a separate case in the file of revenge. Of course, a limited portion of this revenge has already taken tangible form, but until it is fully realized this case will remain open above all other cases….
One point I must emphasize is that in any case we will obtain compensation from the enemy. If it refuses, we will take from its assets to the extent that we deem appropriate. And if that too proves impossible, we will destroy an equivalent amount of its assets.…
We share land or maritime borders with fifteen neighboring countries, and we have always desired warm and constructive relations with all of them… In the recent aggression, some of their military bases were used…. These countries must determine their position regarding the aggressors against our beloved homeland and the killers of our people. I recommend that they close those bases as soon as possible, because by now they must have realized that America’s claim of establishing security and peace is nothing but a lie….

While expressing our condolences and deep sympathy to the heroic people of Iran for the martyrdom of thousands of innocent children, women, and men at the hands of imperialist and Zionist criminals, we declare our firm support for the decisions of the forward-looking leaders of the Islamic Republic and the heroic people of Iran to continue resistance and to rapidly neutralize the latest coup attempt by the external and internal enemies of Iranian Revolution. We have no doubt that the conscious and swift election of a leader who guarantees the uninterrupted continuation of the resistance policy of the martyred Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, together with the resistance of the millions of the people and continued combat of the heroic fighters of our homeland, will confront the conspiracies of imperialism and Zionism against Iran with a decisive defeat.
