IQNA – A senior Iranian cleric and interpreters of the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha said reciting and memorizing the Quran is light, but familiarity with the Quran and its interpretation is life in spring.
That is why the term Rabi al-Qulub (spring of hearts) has been mentioned about the Quran in numerous instances in Nahj al-Balagha, Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli said. Being close to the Holy Quran brings joy, and happiness to the heart, the senior scholar stated.
He made the remarks in a speech featuring moral issues at the Azam Mosque in Qom on Wednesday.
Ayatollah Javadi Amoli noted that in a sermon that outlined the pillars of religion, Imam Ali (AS) emphasized that if you want to not wither, be with the Quran because it is the spring of hearts.
He further stated that if people do not help the religion of God, God will replace them with those who love God and God will love them.
Those who stood against the enemies in the 12-day war in June 2025 are God’s friends, he said, adding that, of course, the best friends of God are first and foremost Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), and then the lovers of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), whom God also loves.
He also said that the work of the Imamate and Ummah system is to eliminate ignorance.
The cleric also highlighted the role of Islamic seminaries and universities in eliminating ignorance in society.
