At the end of its statement, the association called for public mobilization, increased levels of preparedness, and response to the Quran’s call for jihad in the way of God, emphasizing that the current stage requires unity and the adoption of practical positions that go beyond making statements of condemnation.
The statement comes as US President Donald Trump has escalated rhetoric, threatening new military action against Iran.
Washington recently deployed the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its accompanying strike group to West Asia near Iran.
Iranian officials have warned that there will be a firm military response to any act of aggression against the country.
