Islam is the Most Humane Religion and Preserves Human Dignity

Al‑Azhar Researcher

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Mohammadi told Al‑Youm television: “No principle or doctrine can eradicate the roots of extremism. Extremist ideology has never respected human beings or safeguarded their dignity—unlike Islam, which honors human dignity and calls for its protection.”

The Al‑Azhar researcher explained that divine human dignity is affirmed in the Qur’an through the verse “We have certainly honored the children of Adam” (Qur’an 17:70), which applies to all humanity, not only believers. This dignity is an innate right bestowed by God upon every human being.
He further noted that Islam safeguards human dignity in body, soul, property, and thought, stressing the sanctity of human life: “Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land—it is as if he had slain mankind entirely” (Qur’an 5:32). He added that the Prophet of Islam, through both words and actions, consistently respected human dignity and treated people without discrimination.

Mohammadi continued: “Extremists label others as enemies, infidels, or sinners, and justify violence and discrimination in the name of religion. Yet true religion is free of such behavior, and those who commit injustice in the name of religion are in fact destroying the very essence of faith.”
