The secretary-general of the Human Rights Headquarters said the U.S. is the world's top human rights violator and main instigator of the recent 12-day war on Iran.

Speaking at the 10th International Conference on American Human Rights on Wednesday, Secretary-General of the Human Rights Headquarters Nasser Seraj said the U.S.’s policies and actions not only constitute severe human rights violations but also exacerbate regional tensions and wars.
“During the recent 12-day war, Iran’s High Council for Human Rights submitted numerous well-documented reports to international bodies to expose the extent of human rights violations by the U.S. and its allies,” he added.
Seraj said that under the guise of human rights, the U.S. exploits this concept to justify its hegemony, aggression, and unilateral policies, adding, “American human rights is nothing but a political tool wielded to safeguard its own interests and power, with no genuine commitment to upholding the true rights of human beings.”
Echoing remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the official said, “The U.S. does not believe in human rights and is solely focused on securing its own political and economic interests.”
Condemning the recent war of aggression against Iran, the senior Iranian Judiciary official noted, “This war was conducted with full coordination, as well as logistical, arms, and military support from the U.S., resulting in the deaths of numerous civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. This is a clear example of human rights violations.”
Israel launched the aggression on June 13, three days before scheduled talks between Iran and the United States regarding Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
The United States joined the war on June 22, launching airstrikes on three of Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.
The Iranian Armed Forces launched powerful retaliatory strikes, targeting key positions across Israeli-occupied territories and inflicting significant damage.
A ceasefire was announced on June 24.
