Toronto Quds Rally draws thousands amid Gaza’s ongoing genocide

Quds Day rally in Toronto, Sunday March 23, 2025
Toronto’s annual al-Quds Day rally on Sunday March 23 attracted thousands of Canadians from all walks of life and all faith communities.

The ongoing zionist genocide in Gaza has necessitated highlighting the plight of the Palestinians who have endured relentless bombardment since October 2023.

This was the dominant theme in most speeches.

Held opposite the US Consulate in Toronto—the usual location for such rallies in the past—participants included many Palestinian students.

They have been in the forefront of holding rallies to condemn zionist crimes against the defenceless Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

Among the speakers were Rabbi Yisriel Dovid Weiss of Neturei Karta International.

Accompanying him were a number of other rabbis who not only made a clear distinction between Judaim and zionism but condemned the racist ideology without mincing words.

Neturei Karta has consistently opposed zionism and rejected the establishment of the zionist entity on the land of the Palestinian people.

A young Palestinian student, Samera Azza, born and raised in Jenin and currently a student at York University in Toronto, spoke powerfully about how the Palestinian youth are resisting zionist barbarism with their bare hands.

“Palestinians will neither forget their land nor give it up,” she said.

She narrated how Palestinian youth in Jenin, Tulkarm and other towns and villages in the zionist occupied West Bank are resisting the zionist occupiers and standing against their brutalities.

Palestinian comedian, Amer Zaher weaved the suffering of the Palestinian people into his humorous narrative to drive home the point.

Based in Dearborn, Michigan, he said his home city in the US demonstrated how the fraudulent claims of liberalism by the Democrats can be challenged and defeated.

This was done during last November’s elections.

He paid rich tribute to the struggle of Hizbullah and their martyred leaders as well as to Ansarallah in Yemen.

Amer Zaher said the zionist entity’s end was near.

Before the rally set out on its march through the streets of Toronto, there were two other speakers: Canadian author and activist Yves Englar and Shaikh Shafiq Huda.

Englar was arrested last month and put in jail for five days because he challenged a genocide supporting zionist in Montreal.

He is out on bail pending trial.

The author of more than 15 books, Englar’s arrest shows how deeply the pro-Israel lobby has penetrated the political and law-enforcement systems in Canada (much like the US).

He pointed out that while pro-Palestinian activists are being hounded by the police, the Toronto police chief himself attended an anti-semitism conference in Ottawa.

The zionists have weaponized anti-semitism. Anyone who criticizes zionist genocide of Palestinians in Gaza is immediately branded an ‘anti-semite’.

Neither the police nor Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) has deemed it fit to investigate and revoke the charitable status of Chapters Books for sending more than $2 billion over 20 years for illegal Jewish settlements in occupied Palestine.

The zionists have even been pushing for politicians to ban Quds Day rallies.

Some politicians, in complete disregard of Canadian laws, have joined this chorus of zionist warmongers.

The Quds Day rally participants served notice that they will continue to hold such rallies to remind the world that Masjid al-Aqsa in Al-Quds/Jerusalem remains under illgal zionist occupation.

Its liberation is the responsibility of all freedom loving people throughout the world.

Quds Day rallies were proclaimed by Imam Khomeini in 1980 after the victory of the Islamic revolution in iran and have continued to grow worldwide.

The zionist-perpetrated genocide in Gaza has simply reinforced people’s determination to resist such barbarism and continue to struggle until the liberation of Al-Quds from the zionists’ clutches.
