Senior cleric hails late pres. Raeisi for his tireless work

TEHRAN, (MNA) – Tehran provisional Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami praised the late Iranian president for being tireless in serving the people while in office in every post.

Speaking during Friday Prayers sermon in the capital Tehran, Ayatollah Khatami said that the massive turnout to participate in the late president Ebrahim Raeisi's funeral by the Iranian people showed their love for him. 

He noted that as many as three million people in Mashhad saw off the corpse of their president.

The senior cleric noted that the late president used to work hard to serve the people, adding that he would work even on holidays.

He also paid tribute to the other martyrs that accompanied president Raeisi, including foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azarbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, Friday Prayers leader of the city of Tabriz Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem, and a member of the president’s bodyguard team Mahdi Mousavi. The helicopter’s pilot, co-pilot, and crew were also among others on board the chopper.

The senior cleric further commemorated the 42nd anniversary of Khorramshahr's liberation from Iraqi Baathist regime's occupation.
