Israel isolated in UN Disarmament Conference chaired by Iran

TEHRAN - Israel found itself completely isolated during a UN Conference on Disarmament, with the Islamic Republic of Iran presiding over the event.

The conference, held on Sunday, highlighted the position of Israel as the primary impediment to establishing a nuclear-free West Asia.

Under Iran's leadership, the conference included various discussions focusing on the elimination of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in the region. Iran originally introduced the initiative for a nuclear-free West Asia in 1974.

During the meetings, member states expressed support for Iran's approach to pursuing a nuclear-free West Asia and dismantling other weapons of mass destruction. They also criticized Israel as the only obstacle to the realization of Iran’s proposals, emphasizing the need for their rapid implementation in West Asia.
