President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi’s remarks on Tuesday in his press conference in Tehran on the failure of the enemies of Iran, especially the US, to try to isolate the Islamic Republic, have been widely covered by the international media.
He pointed to Tehran’s growing ties with world countries in various spheres, saying: “Relations with Latin America, Africa and many Asian countries as well as our active role in the Eurasian Economic Union and membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in addition to the recent approval of membership by the BRICS all show that the enemy failed in its bid to isolate Islamic Iran.”
The Islamic Republic which shares friendly ties with all its neighbours as a member of the UN and all its agencies, is an active member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its affiliates, as well as the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in addition to being the Founding Member of the 10-nation Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) – to name a few.
Moreover, the country and its grassroots governing system which the US and some of its West European accomplices have dreamt of isolating since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 that threw into the dustbin of history the British-installed rootless Pahlavi regime, wields profound influence not just in the region but in many Latin American and African countries.
To the horror of its enemies, Iran’s economy and the scientific capabilities of its enterprising people devoted to Islam and humanitarian values, have flourished instead of being crippled by the illegal US sanctions, to the extent that the mastery of Iranians over modern technology, including nuclear, aerospace, defence, and medicine, is eyed with interest even by some European countries which are eager to become Tehran’s customers.
This has frustrated the US and its surrogate in our area, the illegal Zionist entity, whose feverish propaganda coupled with acts of terrorism, have failed to stop the progress of Iran and its assistance to countries in the neighbourhood to thwart the plots of their enemies.
In the words of the Iranian president: “Efforts by the enemies to isolate Iran and drive the Iranian people to despair have failed, whereas all indicators attest to growth and progress in the country.”
To sum up, it is not the Islamic Republic of Iran which has become isolated, but the US which is viewed the Free World as the enemy of humanity and humanitarian values.
