In a recent extended interview marking 13 years after the major conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that based on “logic” and the “development of events in the region and the world”, he has great hope that he himself will “pray in the al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem)”.

Earlier in the interview, Nasrallah shared with viewers detailed war-time plans using maps of the ‘Israeli entity’ and its major political, financial, military, and industrial centres and facilities, all of which have been designated as potential targets of Hezbollah’s precision-guided missiles ‘if Israel were to wage another war on Lebanon’.

Who will pray at the Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem)? Is it your eminence, your children or your grandchildren?

Nasrallah:

Well, first of all one’s lifespan is in Almighty God’s hands. But if we put this dimension aside, in my opinion, based on logic, time and the development of events in the region and the world, I am one who has great hope that I myself will pray in al-Quds. My words are based on logic. As for the unseen I don’t know, nor do I know how long I’ll live for. I’m saying logically-speaking.

Interviewer:

That’s what’s most important here, logic.

Nasrallah:

Yes…this is Israel…the problem Mr. Imad is that Arabs, in general, were absent. The problem is that not only did we have a “security belt” in Lebanon through which the ‘Lahad (Army)’ was protecting Israel, but we also had (many) security belts – in the form of Arab regimes – protecting Israel. If this entity (Israel) was left alone…this entity remains standing because of two (pillars), and not based on its own power. The first is the American & Western support, and the second is Arabs forsaking (Palestine). Not based upon its own power.

As we said to Arabs in the July War (2006): stand aside, we don’t want you to fight alongside us, just leave us alone. That’s what we said at the time. We asked Arabs to sit aside, and not to conspire against the Palestinian people and the resistance movements. And I again tell them to sit aside, because they’re not doing so. They are conspiring and instigating and punishing…and I know that in most Arab states today, if someone collects money, not for Hezbollah, but for the Palestinian brothers, the Palestinian people and the resistance factions in Palestine, he’ll be thrown into jail, and not that his money is (merely) confiscated.

Do not conspire against the resistance, sit aside as neutrals. Today Israel remains standing thanks only to American protection and support. And even America, if there’s willpower and readiness for resistance, then even it won’t be able to cross the seas and oceans to defend an entity that does not enjoy its own power. Meaning that if we put the second factor aside (the Arab role), and we set the axis of resistance into action, this existence (of Israel) cannot continue.

THE FARCE OF ARAB HUMANITARIAN AID IN PALESTINE

In recent months, Gaza’s humanitarian situation has been under intense, albeit useless scrutiny. There is no disagreement that deprivation has reached unprecedented levels. Yet this consensus was also the product of an international effort that supports the Palestinian Authority (PA) regaining complete control over Gaza. In the words of UN Special Coordinator Jamie McGoldrick, the PA “would make our job easier, and hopefully create an atmosphere where people can see hope”. This is despite the fact that even from a distance, the PA has only increased hardships for Palestinians in Gaza by imposing sanctions that have contributed to the enclave’s decline.

Only mere days prior to Israel’s latest bombing of Gaza, Qatar sent $15 million in cash to pay the salaries of Palestinian civil servants. Over the next six months, $90 million will be distributed in Gaza. Mainstream media has lauded the cash infusion as a necessary respite. And according to Qatar, 27,000 civil servants out of 40,000 will benefit from the donated funds. 

However, there is no doubt that the political game to keep Palestinians in Gaza hovering between life and death is set to continue.

Within the Arab world, there is no commitment towards the Palestinian struggle, and this is not just because the Arab Spring has left repercussions and opportunities for foreign interference with blurring allegiances. Diplomatic ties to Israel have always been favoured by the Arab world, while the Palestinian anti-colonial struggle is exploited as an ostensibly unifying factor. The reality is, however, that the Arab countries’ consideration of Palestine is a farce – it provides a rallying point for slogans and meetings, while being swiftly dismissed until the next occasion.

Qatar’s cash may well provide a temporary alleviation for Palestinians in Gaza, yet the nature of donations confirms the Palestinians’ disappearance from political autonomy. It is Israel that decided, out of its own strategic interests, to allow the funds to reach Gaza, at a time when discourse about deprivation had reached unprecedented levels. There is no doubt that Qatar’s donation will do nothing other than to satisfy the immediate needs of Palestinian families, even as other necessities such as the access to uninterrupted health services, clean water and freedom of movement remain non-existent.

It is of no use to speak of universal rights when these very rights are politicised and bequeathed according to hegemonic interests.

The humanitarian context is providing a political framework for the actors determining Gaza’s survival or destruction. It is also constructing a misleading – and indeed, fabricated narrative – about Gaza, that portrays donor aid as the only solution for Palestinians in the enclave. This dissemination, promoted by the international community at the behest of Israel and the PA, is leading to stagnated discussions of humanitarian aid while knowing full well that the violations as a result of colonial collusion have exceeded any pledged or donated funds.

Additionally, the separation of politics from the people is contributing to a situation where the Palestinian people are associated with aid, and the politics are attributed to Hamas.

This erroneous distinction is also applied on a broader level where the political actors involved in decision-making are pushing both entities into a vacuum – the people divested of their political rights, while Hamas is internationally isolated in terms of diplomatic engagement. It is not enough to argue that there are a few countries that engage with Hamas; the discrepancy lies in the fact that these countries are still politically engaged at an international level. Hence, any relations with Hamas are still determined, in terms of priorities, according to what is deemed acceptable by the international community.

The collective decision to force Palestinian lives into being inherently dependent upon humanitarian aid and financial support reflects a widespread and irreversible refusal to engage politically over Israel’s colonial violence and the PA’s collaboration. In terms of the harm inflicted upon Palestinians due to the refusal of the international community to recognise the Palestinian people’s political aspirations, it is time to speak of humanitarian aid in a clear manner which recognises this strategy as humanitarian warfare.

இஸ்ரேல் என்ற நாட்டை ஸ்தாபிப்தற்கு பலஸ்தீனத்தை பலிகொடுக்கும் தீர்மானம் ஐ.நாவில் நிறைவேறிய நாள் 29 நவம்பர் 1947நீதி சிதைக்கப்பட்டதும் அநியாயம் தலை எடுத்ததும் பின்னர் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டது

மனித வரலாற்றில் மிகவும் இருள் சூழ்ந்த தினமாக 29 நவம்பர் 1947 பதிவாகியுள்ளது. அன்றைய நாளில் தான் அமெரிக்காவின் அப்போதைய ஜனாதிபதி ஹரி.எஸ்.ட்ரியுமன் தலைமையில் வழிநடத்தப்பட்ட ஐரோப்பிய ஏகாதிபத்தியவாத தலைவர்கள் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையை மிரட்டிப் பணிய வைத்து உலகின் பல இடங்களில் நாடோடிகளாக வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்த யூதர்களுக்காக அவர்கள் அதுவரை கண்டு கூட இருக்காத பலஸ்தீனம் என்ற நாட்டை பலஸ்தீன மக்களிடம் இருந்து காவு கொண்டு இஸ்ரேல் என்ற நாட்டை உருவாக்கும் தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றினர். இன்று அந்த நாடுதான் உலகின் எல்லா சாபக்கேடுகளுக்கும் அழிவுகளுக்கும் காரணமாக அமைந்துள்ளது.

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சாசனத்தை மட்டுமன்றி உலகில் அறியப்பட்டிருந்த ஏனைய சட்டங்கள், தர்மங்கள், தார்மீக விழுமியங்கள் மற்றும் கொள்கைகள் என எல்லாவற்றையும் குழி தோண்டிப் புதைத்து விட்டுத் தான் இந்தத் தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. அன்றைய தினத்தில் தான் மனித விழுமியங்கள் அனைத்துமே சிதைவுற்றன.

இதன் மூலம் பலஸ்தீனர்களின் தாயகபூமி யூதக் குடியேற்ற வன்முறையாளர்களுக்கு தாரைவார்த்து கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. முஸ்லிம்கள் செல்வத்தோடும் செல்வாக்கோடும் வாழ்ந்த மத்திய கிழக்கை நிலை குலையச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசாங்க சதி முயற்சியின் இறுதி அத்தியாயம் எழுதப்பட்ட நாள் இன்றுதான். இஸ்ரேல் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட பின் இடம்பெற்ற படுகொலைகள், யுத்தங்கள், இனச் சுத்திகரிப்புக்கள் எல்லாமே பிற்காலத்தில் மத்திய கிழக்கை கொலைகளமாகவும், சவக்காடாகவும் மாற்றிமையை வரலாற்றில் காண முடிகின்றது.

நடந்தது இதுதான்:

19ம் நூற்றாண்டின் ஆரம்பத்தில் இப்போது இஸ்ரேலாக இருக்கின்ற பலஸ்தீனம் துருக்கிய பேரரசின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருந்தது. 1896ம் ஆண்டு காலப்பகுதியில் இங்கு வாழ்ந்த மக்களுள் 95 வீதமானவர்கள் அரபிகள். இங்கிருந்த காணிகளில் 90 வீதம் இவர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமானதாகவே காணப்பட்டன. இங்குள்ள மக்கள் சத்தமிட்டு பேசுவதையோ அல்லது கெட்ட விடயங்கள் பற்றி பேசுவதையோ கேட்பது கூட கடினம். அந்தளவுக்கு அமைதியாகவும் கௌரவமாகவும் மக்கள் வாழ்ந்த காலம் அது.

1897 இல் சுவிட்ஸர்லாந்தின் பேஸில் நகரில் இடம்பெற்ற முதலாவது உலக சியோனிஸ காங்கிரஸ் மாநாட்டில் பலஸ்தீனத்தில் யூத நாடு ஒன்றை உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்ற தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. பத்து வருடங்கள் கழித்து 1907ல் லண்டன் காலணித்துவ மாநாட்டில் மத்திய கிழக்கை கொந்தளிப்பு நிலையில் வைத்திருக்கக் கூடிய விரோதப் போக்குடைய ஒரு சக்தியை ஸ்தாபிப்பது என்று தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது.

இந்த சதித் திட்டம் தான் சியோனிஸ யூதர்களையும் பிரிட்டனையும் ஒன்றிணைத்தது. முதலாம் உலகப் போர் இதற்கான வாய்ப்பை அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கியது. இதன் படி முதலாம் உலகப் போரில் இவ்விரண்டு தீய சக்திகளும் ஒன்றிணைந்து துருக்கிப் பேரரசுக்கு முடிவு கட்டின. ஏற்கனவே திட்டமிட்டபடி 1917ல் பிரிட்டனின் ஆதிக்கத்தின் கீழ் பலஸ்தீனம் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. இது இந்தப் பிரதேசத்தில் யூதக் குடியேற்றத்துக்கு வழிவகுத்தது. குறிப்பாக இங்கு பலஸ்தீனர்கள் அடித்து விரட்டப்பட்ட பின் ரஷ்யாவில் வாழ்ந்து வந்த யூதர்கள் குடியேற்றப்பட்டனர்.

பிரிட்டனினதும் சியோனிஸ யூதர்களினதும் சூழ்ச்சி பற்றி எதுவும் அறிந்திராத அப்பாவி பலஸ்தீனர்கள் நிராயுதபாணிகளாக இவர்களை எதிர்த்தனர். ஆனால் ஏற்கனவே இந்த எதிர்ப்பை எதிர்ப்பார்த்திருந்த குடியேற்ற யூதர்கள் ஹகானா, ஸ்டேர்ன், இர்குன், ஸ்வாய்லுமி போன்ற பயங்கரவாத குழுக்களை மத்திய கிழக்கு பயங்கர வாதத்தின் ஞானத் தந்தைகளான மெனாச்சம் பெகின், இட்ஷாக் ஷாமிர், ஏரியல் ஷரோன் ஆகியோர் தலைமையில் உருவாக்கி பலஸ்தீனர்களுக்கு பதிலடி கொடுத்தனர். இந்தக் குழுக்கள் பலஸ்தீனர்களை கிராமம் கிராமமாகச் சென்று தேடித்தேடி வேட்டையாடின.

பலஸ்தீன மக்கள் மீது பயங்கரவாதத்தை பிரயோகித்து அவர்களை அங்கிருந்து விரட்டியடித்து அவர்களின் காணிகளை கபளீகரம் செய்வதை குறியாகக் கொண்டு இந்தக் குழுக்கள் செயற்பட்டன.

இந்த சதியின் ஒரு அங்கமாக மெனாச்சம் பெகின் தலைமையிலான குழு சிறுவர் பெண்கள் என்ற பேதம் கூட பார்க்காமல் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான பலஸ்தீனர்களை கொன்று குவித்தது. ஜெரூஸலத்தில் இருந்து ஒரு சில மைல் தூரத்தில் உள்ள டேர் யாஸின் என்ற கிராமத்தில் மட்டும் இந்தக் குழு 254 பலஸ்தீன உயிர்களைப் பலி எடுத்தது. இந்தக் குழுவுக்கு தலைமை தாங்கிய மெனாச்சம் பெகின் பின்னர் இஸ்ரேலின் பிரதமரானார். அவருக்கு சமாதானத்துக்கான நோபள் பரிசு வழங்கப்பட்ட கேவலமும் வரலாறில் பதிவாகியுள்ளது. டேர் யாஸின் படுகொலைகள் மனித குல வரலாற்றில் இடம் பெற்ற மிக மோசமான படுகொலைகளாகப் பதிவாகியுள்ளன. வியட்நாமில் இடம்பெற்ற ‘மைலாய் படுகொலைகளுக்கு’ ஈடான ஒரு சம்பவமாகவும் இது குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

எந்த விதமான உதவிகளும் அற்ற பலஸ்தீனர்கள் ஆர்ப்பாட்டங்கள் செய்து இதை எதிர்த்து நின்றனர். ஆனால் பிரிட்டிஷ் நிர்வாகம் இந்தப் பிரதேசத்தில் தனக்கிருந்த ஆணை அதிகாரங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி அவர்களை நசுக்கியது. அதையும் மீறி இந்த எதிர்ப்புக்கள் மோசமான கட்டத்துக்கு வந்த போது இந்தப் பிரதேசத்தில் இருந்த தனக்கு விசுவாசமான அரபு கைக்கூலி ஆட்சியாளர்களையும், இராணுவ சர்வாதிகார ஆட்சியாளர்களையும் பிரிட்டன் தூண்டிவிட்டது.

அச்சம் கொண்ட பலஸ்தீனர்கள் தமது உயிரைக் காப்பாற்ற ஓட்டம் பிடித்தனர். அந்த ஓட்டம் அண்டை நாடுகளில் உள்ள அகதி முகாம்களில் அவர்களை கொண்டு போய் சேர்த்தது. இன்னமும் அத்தகைய அகதி முகாம்களில் அவல வாழ்வு நீடிக்கின்றது. போதுமான அளவு யூதக் குடியேற்ற வாசிகள் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டதும் சியோனிஸ்ட்டுகள் பலஸ்தீனத்தைப் பிரிப்பதற்கு ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் அங்கீகாரத்தை பெறும் காரியங்களைத் தொடங்கினர். தங்களுக்காக இந்த அசிங்கத்தை அரங்கேற்றத் தான் அவர்கள் அமெரிக்காவைப் பயன்படுத்தினர்.

அன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் கருத்தியல் ரீதியாகப் பிளவுபட்டிருந்த அமெரிக்காவும் சோவியத் யூனியனும் பலஸ்தீனத்துக்குள் சியோனிஸ நாட்டை உருவாக்கும் இந்த அசிங்கமான காரியத்தில் காலம் காலமாக கைகோர்த்து பணியாற்றும் படைகளைப் போல்; ஒன்றிணைந்தன. அன்றைய உலகை ஆட்டிப் படைத்த இரண்டு பெரிய வல்லரசுகளையும் சியோனிஸ்ட்டுகள் எந்தளவுக்கு தமது கட்டுப்பாட்டின் கீழ் வைத்திருந்தனர் என்பதற்கு இது ஒரு எடுத்துக் காட்டாகும்.

இவ்வாறாக 1947 நவம்பர் 29ல் பலஸ்தீனத்தை பிரித்து குடியேற்ற யூதர்களுக்கான பாஸிஸவாத நாட்டை உருவாக்கும் தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்ற ஐ.நா.வை அடி பணிய வைத்தனர்.

வெளிநாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு குழுவினருக்கு தாம் வாழ வந்த பகுதியில் ஒரு தேசத்தின் ஆள்புல ஒருமைப்பாட்டை பிரித்து சூறையாட அனுமதியளிக்கப்பட்டது உலக வரலாற்றில் இதுவே முதற் தடவையாகும்.

இந்த உத்தேச யூத நாட்டில் கூட அரபிகள் தான் பெரும்பான்மையாகக் காணப்பட்டனர். மொத்த சனத்தொகையான 1இ008இ900 ல் அரபு யூதர்கள் 509,780 ஆகவும் மற்றவர்கள் 499,020 ஆகவும் காணப்பட்டனர்.

தமது நாடு பிளவு படுத்தப்படும் ஐ.நா.தீர்மானத்தை பலஸ்தீன அரபிகள் எதிர்த்தனர். தமது தாய்நாடு இரண்டாக துண்டாடப்படுவதை அவர்கள் விரும்பவில்லை. மன்னன் சாலமன் காலத்தில் இடம்பெற்றதாகக் கூறப்படும் விவிலிய வேதநூல் கதையில் எப்படி ஒரு பிள்ளை இரண்டாகத் துண்டாடப்பட்டு இருவரிடம் கொடுக்கப்படுவதை விட அது மற்றவரிடமே இருக்கட்டும் என்று விட்டுக் கொடுத்து தனது தாய்மையை ஒரு பெண் எப்படி நிரூபித்தாலோ அதேபோன்ற நிலையில் தான் பலஸ்தீனர்கள் காணப்பட்டனர். ஆனால்; துரதிஷ்டவசமாக இந்த இடத்தில் நியாயம் வழங்க வேண்டியவர்கள் மன்னன் சாலமனைப் போல் விவேகமானவர்களாகக் காணப்படவில்லை. மாறாக அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் ஐரோப்பிய ஆதிக்கம் மிக்க உலகில் அவர்களின் சதித்திட்டங்களை எல்லாம் நியாயப்படுத்தி வந்த ஐ.நா சபைதான் இங்கு தீர்ப்பு சொல்லும் நிலையில் இருந்தது.

ஐ.நா மேற்கொண்ட இந்த அநீதியான முடிவு பற்றி பிரபல எழுத்தாளரும் வரலாற்றியலாளருமான எச்.ஜி.வெல்ஸ் குறிப்பிடுகையில் “இரண்டாயிரம் வருடங்களாக உலகில் இல்லாத ஒரு யூத நாட்டை உருவாக்குவது முறையெனில், ஏன் இன்னும் இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் பின் சென்று கனானிய காலத்து நாடு ஒன்றை உருவாக்கி இருக்கக் கூடாது. யூதர்களைப் போலன்றி கனானியர்கள் இன்னமும் உள்ளனர்” என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

இந்த பிரிவினைவாத தீர்மானத்தால் துணிச்சல் கொண்ட சியோனிஸ்ட்டுகள் பலஸ்தீனர்களுக்கு எதிராக பல படுகொலைகளை தொடராகப் புரிந்துள்ளனர். இந்த யூத பயங்கரவாத குழுக்களுக்கு எப்போதெல்லாம் ஆயுதங்கள் தேவைப்பட்டதோ அப்போதெல்லாம் அதை அமெரிக்கா தாராளமாக அள்ளி வழங்கியது. இப்போதும் அது தொடருகின்றது.

சியோனிஸ படு கொலைகளுக்கு நடுவே 1948 மே 14ல் இஸ்ரேல் என்ற நாடு பிரகடனப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. ஐ.நா தீர்மானத்தை தொடர்ந்து மேலும் பெருமளவான பகுதிகள் இஸ்ரேலுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டன.

முன் கூட்டியே திட்டமிடப்பட்டவாறு இஸ்ரேல் என்ற நாடு ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்டது. உலகின் மிகவும் கொடுமையான ஒரு சக்தியாக இஸ்ரேல் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சாசனம், மனித உரிமைகள் பற்றிய சர்வதேச சாசனம் என எல்லாவற்றiயும் மீறி நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானத்தின் அடிப்படையில் தான் இன்று இஸ்ரேல் அதன் இருப்புக்கான உரிமையையும் கோரி நிற்கின்றது. சியோனிஸ நாடு பிரகடனம் செய்யப்பட்டு 15 நிமிடங்களுக்குள் அமெரிக்காவும் அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து சோவியத் யூனியனும் இஸ்ரேலை அங்கீகரித்தன. இந்த இரண்டு நாடுகளுமே இஸ்ரேலின் உருவாக்கத்துக்கு மிக முக்கிய பங்களிப்பை வழங்கின என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

நியாயமான சிந்தனைப் போக்குள்ள சகலரும் இந்த அநியாயத்தை பரவலாக எதிர்த்தனர், கண்டித்தனர். வுhந நேற லுழசம சுநஎநைற ழக டீழழமள என்ற நூலில் ஐ.எப்..ஸ்டோன் என்பவர் எழுதியுள்ள கட்டுரையில் “இந்த சியோனிஸ விடயத்தில் எளிமையான ஒரு நயவுரை காணப்படுகின்றது. 2000 வருட பழமையானவர்களுக்காக திடீரென உரிமை கோரல்கள் விடுக்கப்படுவதாயின் முழு உலகும் மீண்டும் ஒரு தடவை மறுசீரமைக்கப்பட வேண்டும். சியோனிஸம் அதன் ஆரம்பம் முதலே அதன் குறிக்கோள்களை நிறைவேற்றிக் கொள்ள அரபு உலகில பாரிய பேரரசு ஒன்றின்; ஒரு புறக்காவல் பிரிவாகவே செயற்பட விரும்பியுள்ளது. சியோனிஸ அரசு என்ற கருவை உருவாக்கிய தியடோர் ஹெர்ஸ்ல் முதலில் சுல்தான்களையே வெற்றி கொள்ள விரும்பினார்” என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்ட பலஸ்தீன பூமியில் உலகில் எந்தவொரு பாகத்தில் இருந்து வந்த யூதர்கள் வேண்டுமானாலும் குடியேறலாம் என்பதுதான் இன்றைய நிலை. ஆனால் இங்குள்ள வீடுகளின் சாவிகளும் காணிகளின் உரிமைப் பத்திரங்களும் பலஸ்தீனர்களிடம் இன்னமும் உள்ளன. ஆனால் அவர்களுக்கு இங்கே வருகை தர முடியாது. இஸ்ரேல் தான் உலகில் நிரந்தர எல்லைகள் அற்ற ஒரே நாடு. அது மட்டுமல்ல உலகிலேயே இங்கு மட்டும் தான் படுகொலைகளுக்கு தலைமை தாங்கியவர்களும், யுத்தக் குற்றம் புரிந்தவர்களும் மாறி மாறி பிரதமர்களாகவும் ஜனாதிபதிகளாகவும் தெரிவு செய்யப்படும் விந்தையும் நடக்கின்றது.

பலஸ்தீனர்கள் தொடர்ந்து கொல்லப்படுகின்றார்கள், காணிகள் தொடர்ந்து அபகரிக்கப்படுகின்றன, பிரத்தியேகமான யூதக் குடியேற்றங்கள் ஏற்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. பலஸ்தீனர்களின் வீடுகள் தகர்க்கப்படுகின்றன. அவர்களின் பண்ணைகளும் விவசாய நிலங்களும் வாழ்வாதாரங்களும் சிதைக்கப்படுகின்றன. சட்டவிரோத கைதுகளும் சித்திரவதைகளும் தொடருகின்றன. 11 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பலஸ்தீனர்கள் இஸ்ரேலிய சிறைகளில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். காஸா பிரதேசத்தின் மீது எகிப்திய சர்வாதிகார இராணுவ ஆட்சியாளர்களின் ஒத்துழைப்புடன் பல ஆண்டுகளாக பொருளாதார தடைகள் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. எகிப்தில் மட்டும் 1.5 மில்லியன் பலஸ்தீனர்கள் நிர்க்கதி நிலையில் உள்ளனர். இவ்வாறு இஸ்ரேலின் மனித குலத்துக்கு எதிரான குற்றங்கள் தொடர்ந்த வண்ணமே உள்ளன.

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையில் ஆகக் கூடுதலான தடவைகள் கண்டனத்துக்கு உள்ளான நாடு இஸ்ரேல் தான். இதுவரை அந்த நாட்டுக்கு எதிராக 120க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கண்டனத் தீர்மானங்கள் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளன. மத்திய கிழக்கு பிராந்தியத்துக்கு மட்டும் அல்ல முழு உலகினதும் ஸ்திரப்பாட்டுக்கு அச்சுறுத்தலாக இருக்கும் ஒரே நாடு இஸ்ரேல்தான். அமெரிக்காவினதும் ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளினதும் ஆதரவு காரணமாக இஸ்ரேலுக்கு எதிராக எவ்வித நடவடிக்கையும் எடுக்க முடியாத கையாலாகாத நிலையில் ஐ.நாவும் உள்ளது.

Palestinians Continue ‘Great March of Return’ While Arab Regimes Dally With Israel

While the oppressed Palestinian people, especially those of besieged Gaza, have continued for the past several months their indomitable rallies for eventual goal of liberation of their usurped homeland, the regimes ruling the Persian Gulf states are vying with each other to establish diplomatic ties with the illegal Zionist entity.

So far 221 Palestinians of Gaza have been martyred since the movement dubbed the "Great March of Return” started some seven months ago. Besides the sporadic firing of homemade rockets at Zionist positions in retaliation for Israel’s crimes, the defenders have come with such novel measures as the launching of incendiary balloons and kites that have wreaked havoc on the occupiers and their farmlands.
The protests have drawn tens of thousands of people on Fridays, the weekly holiday, after holding of the Friday congregations prayers.
It is now over 70 years since the illegal planting of the Zionist entity on Palestinian soil and the driven into exile of some seven hundred thousand Palestinian men, women in children, but the third and even the fourth generation of the displaced, have refused to yield to the rule of the illegal east European migrants over their homeland.
As a result, despite the intense efforts of the West to create despair and despondency, the Palestinians have continued the demand for their right to return to their ancestral homes from which they were driven by the Zionists in 1948.
This iron resolve shows that the struggle for liberation of Palestine is a grassroots movement of the sons of the soil, who in spite of being almost bare-fisted are determined to confront the heavily-armed Israelis.
On the other hand, in the Persian Gulf region, the spurious states created by the British and now sitting snugly in the American lap, are not just indifferent to the Palestinian cause after years of lip-service coupled with backstabbing, but now feel no inhibitions to dance openly with the Zionist devils and make a deal with Israel over the heads of the oppressed Palestinians.

This means, the hereditary regimes that do not represent the people they rule, and feel indebted to the imperialists – formally the British and now the Americans – for having installed them as rulers and protectors of their unrepresentative rule in the spurious oil-rich states, have no respect for even fellow Arabs, let alone any regard for Islam and Muslim unity.
If these regimes were really Muslim as they claim, they would never have dallied with the Zionists and cooperated in the grand American-Israeli plan to destabilize the entire region by murdering fellow Arabs and Muslims on a grand scale.
It is obvious the failure of this grand plan to topple the governments of Iraq and Syria through takfiri terrorists, along with their inability to bring the Yemeni people to their knees, have created panic in the ranks of the Saudi, Emirati and Bahraini regimes.
Terrified at the idea of the ultimate victory of the people of Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, and the whole of oil-rich Arabia, the totalitarian Arab regimes have decided to gang up with the equally scared-to-death Zionist entity, they think they can avert the inevitable by blaming the Islamic Republic for their defeats.
In contrast to these murderous regimes, which brutally kill their own dissident citizens, the unarmed or lightly armed Palestinian people are continuing their struggle against the Zionists with full confidence that one day they will be victorious in the face of heavy odds, as was demonstrated by the people of Iran and is being shown by the people of Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and to a lesser extent, Bahrain.
Whether the US and the West like it or not, the Palestinians have a date with destiny and will soon be masters of their own ancestral homeland, including the holy city of Bayt al-Moqaddas, while the reactionary Arab regimes end up for good in the dustbin of history. 

Let’s Talk Palestine! (Part 3)

The first part of this series discussed the Balfour Declaration signed by Arthur Balfour a century ago, and how the rights of the Palestinians were usurped because of this very document. The second part of this series explored the roots of Zionism and how the destructive Israeli policies directly correlate to colonialism; and the final part of this series will analyse the impact of Israeli terrorism and the importance of embracing our Islamic responsibilities when witnessing the struggle of our Palestinian brethren.

To begin, the mainstream media are very clever when it comes to displaying any news regarding the current state of Palestine – especially the BBC. We always hear of Palestinians “stabbing” and “attacking” IDF soldiers, but we never hear of what transpired before this. We seldom hear stories of how IDF soldiers terrorise children that travel to school on a daily basis – why? Because logic will dictate that this will make Israel look bad in the eyes of the world – and of course, we can’t have that now… (!) But it is time we reclaim the narrative and expose the brutality perpetrated by Israeli soldiers, ministers, politicians and their sympathisers, most importantly it’s time we recognise and understand the culture and power of resistance. When evil and enmity is causing moral corruption on the earth we live on, we mustunderstand our duties. Appeasing the oppressors, or comprising our beliefs is something we cannot do – at any cost. This is why I struggle to fathom how interfaith initiatives involving Zionists fulfil any purpose; because in reality if we take away the fancy words and terminology, interfaith initiatives basically comprise of people sitting together and having a cup of tea (and a biscuit) discussing certain things that sound important; with no end goal. If anything, this gives Zionists the ‘go-ahead’ to continue with their evil ideology and perpetuation of terrorism. We cannot collude with those that harbour such a demonic ideology, rather we should work amongst ourselves and help each other group from strength to strength to tackle such ideologies. Let us not forget that this is eloquently mentioned by Imam Musa ibn Ja’far (as)

“To participate in the activities of the oppressors and to endeavour to achieve their evil objectives and to help them is equal to infidelity and to knowingly lean towards them is a Greater Sin and deserves Hell.” [1]

When it comes to identifying the root cause behind the injustices perpetrated towards those in Palestine, our association with Zionists essentially legitimises the oppression and torture inflicted upon the Palestinians, for it is the Zionists that stole the land from the Palestinians, and continue to murder and torment Palestinian families. Likewise, it is upon us to be cautious in which personalities and companies we endorse and support, there are various corporations that fund Israel, thus by boycotting certain companies would be a form of resistance – can you imagine if we all boycotted every single company that funds Israel, and purchased our products from other sources –  the result would be magnificent! You can check out this site, and see which companies are on the list.

In order to understand our roles and responsibilities, we need to constantly remind ourselves of the outcome we’re hoping for. For example, when working towards a deadline to submit, you set out a plan for yourself, and you give yourself time to understand the task at hand, and time to work towards the end goal you wish to attain, similarly, as activists if we remind ourselves of the goals and of our final outcome – we can collectively be victorious.

Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, our goal is to help reclaim the stolen land. 

The Holy Quran emphasises our duties and responsibilities repeatedly, but how many of us actually exhaust our efforts in this regard? You see, the problem is, we often become far too invested in ourselves that we neglect the world around us, but it’s never too late – and there’s so much we can do collectively and individually. Given that the vast majority of us are social media users, let’s use it to support the Palestinian cause. As an activist, sometimes we forget the importance of educating and propagating the message – arguably the most important element of activism. We organise protests and demonstrations, yet we fail to educate those that are unfortunately unaware of the crisis. So, I would implore everyone to dedicate some of their time to enlightening others on the social media platform in regards to the Palestinian conflict. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are used by millions (if not, billions) of users every day, and given the deliberate misinformation (aka fake news) that is spread consecutively – we need to do our utmost best in this day and age to spread the truth, across various platforms.

This week, over 60 UK parliamentarians urged the British government to take action against Gaza’s worsening humanitarian emergency; and whilst this is a great step, we need to continue to lobby our MP’s and other government representatives, to ensure our demands are met and the people of Palestine are given their dignity and freedom.

As constituents, we have the right to communicate with our MP’s and local elected representatives, and we need to continue to mount pressure on our government when it comes to the issue of Palestine. Politicians such as Jeremy Corbyn will always support such causes, but we need to work towards ensuring other MPs follow in the same footsteps. When writing to your MP, demand a written response, if you’re unhappy with the response they provide – write back to them again, but never give in or allow them to silence you. Our pressure and resistance are mandatory.

Why is the Muslim world silent?

You would think that a group of people who share your faith that are being oppressed would be assisted by their brethren – but not in the case of Palestine, sadly – purely because oil, dollars and power holds more priority for some Muslim leaders and nations. However, when it comes to The Islamic Republic of Iran this is not the case, for the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei has always called on Muslims to stand by the Palestinians, and has always stated that Zionists pose a bigger threat to the region than we can imagine. Therefore our foresight when it comes to socio-politcial and economical issues is vital.

“Today the issue of Palestine is the most fundamental issue of the world Islam and it is intertwined with the destiny of non-Palestinians throughout the world of Islam. Government officials of Islamic countries should not think that if they leave the people of Palestine in the brutal clutches of their enemies, Israel would leave Muslim governments alone after it swallows up Palestine – of course, such a thing will never happen.” – Sayed Ali Khamenei [2]

Ayatollah Khamenei has also mentioned:

Our position on the issue of Palestine is a clear position. We support the Palestinian nation. We support the liberation of Palestine. We support the idea of putting an end to the transgression of the aggressors to the Palestinian lands. We say that the people of Palestine do not have security in their own homes. Islam is against such conditions and so are we, even if other countries sit at the negotiation table and sell Palestine to the enemies. But they should know that Muslim people and the Palestinian nation will never sell Palestine to the enemy. [3]

Both statements emphasise the importance of our Islamic responsibilities when it comes to Palestine. Whilst Saudi Arabia and Israel maintain their ties and ideology, let us look to Iran for inspiration in supporting the cause effectively. To conclude, we often feel pressured into ignoring political issues and feel that we may be silenced, but having full reliance in the Almighty is paramount, especially when a plethora of evil entities are working to destroy our beliefs and our fundamental principles. When it comes to the issue of Palestine, stand up and speak out fearlessly.

Arabs to Help Palestinians Only on U.S. Terms

-New Trump Administration Policy

WASHINGTON -- The United States has said Persian Gulf Arab states can plug the gap from its halt to funding the UN refugee agency which helps Palestinians provided that they meet the new guidelines set out by Washington.

According to Israel's Channel Two, American officials have informed Israel that any further funding for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) would be on U.S. terms.
The U.S. announced on Friday that it will no longer support UNRWA, saying the agency needed to make unspecified reforms as it called on Palestinians to renew "peace" talks with the occupying regime of Israel.

Channel Two said that U.S. officials have allegedly allowed Persian Gulf states to fund UNWRA projects in the short term, but the ultimate plan is to close down the agency once and for all.

"U.S. approval for funding would include any future sponsors to UNWRA committing to redefining the status of the agency, as well as the definition of Palestinian refugees, with the ultimate aim of eventually closing down the agency," it said

It is not yet clear which Persian Gulf states have received the green light to partly compensate for UNRWA's budget deficit of $217 million, which has deepened a cash crisis at the agency in the wake of President Donald Trump's decision.

UNRWA supports more than five million Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, providing healthcare, education and social services.

Most are descendants of the roughly 700,000 Palestinians who were driven out of their homes or fled a 1948 war that led to Israel's creation.

Palestinian refugees have reacted with anger to the U.S. decision, warning that it would lead to more instability in the Middle East. 

Independent observers say the U.S. decision is in line with implementing the Zionist agenda to unilaterally take the Palestinian right of return off the table. 

To Palestinians, the right of return is central to their cause and they see the U.S. decision as a new policy shift aimed at undermining it.

Trump had already angered Palestinians by his December recognition of the disputed city of Jerusalem Al-Quds as the occupying regime of Israel's "capital" and axing more than $200 million in bilateral aid for Gaza and the West Bank. 

Founded in 1948, UNWRA was established to deal with the mass displacement of Palestinians to Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt following the establishment of the Zionist regime. 

Since then, the descendants of those Palestinians who continue to be displaced have benefited from several UNRWA initiatives, including educational facilities. 

According to UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness, the agency provides health clinics, schooling for 526,000 refugee children and food assistance to 1.7 million people - a million of them in Gaza.

The Washington Post cited officials familiar with the decision as saying that the U.S. redefinition of Palestinian refugees would reduce the current five million figure to fewer than a tenth of that number because it would exclude the descendants.

The occupying regime of Israel has warmly welcomed the decision, with Transport Minister Yisrael Katz saying "the American decision is full support for Israel's position, which completely rejects the right of return for the Palestinians."

Mohammad Ali Mohtadi

Senior Iranian expert, Mohammad Ali Mohtadi says the US decision to recognize the occupied al-Quds as the capital of Israel stemmed from the recent developments in the region with Arab states having not pursed the Palestinian issue in their diplomatic agenda.

Mohtadi told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) that the Arab states have instead made alliance with Israel, giving the US president the impression that the situation was ripe for the recognition decision.

The researcher added however that the decision was impossible to put to action, adding Muslims have a common stance on the status of Quds despite their internal differences. "Quds makes an element of identity for the Muslim community," he said.

“Nations have woken up,” he said, adding the position of the Arab states is fragile.
