Across Iran, rallies in solidarity with Palestine

People in cities, towns, and villages across Iran are participating in rallies to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

Tehran, IRNA – Millions of Iranians across the country are participating in rallies in solidarity with Palestine and to condemn the Israeli regime’s atrocities against Palestinian people.

The rallies are being held on Friday, International Quds Day, in cities, towns, and villages across Iran.

Iranian officials, including ministers from the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian and the military, joined other Iranian citizens attending the rallies. President Pezeshkian himself joined demonstrators on Tehran’s Enqelab Avenue.

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who is the commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, also participated in the rallies.

The annual Quds Day rallies are held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. On Thursday night, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the rallies this year are of greater significance than years past and urged Iranians to participate en masse. The Leader expressed hope that this year’s rallies would be among “the best, most glorious” demonstrations.

Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni announced that people in 900 cities and hundreds of villages had held Quds Day rallies.

In the capital, Tehran, Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf addressed rallygoers. Qalibaf said the story of Palestine had been one of longtime pain. “The hegemonic system has survived on oppressing humanity, and the Zionist regime is in fact criminal America’s killing machine,” the speaker said.

Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, who also participated in the rallies, said Iran stayed true to the Palestinian cause. “For our people, and our government, support for and defense of oppressed people is a fundamental principle,” he said.

At Tehran University, where rallygoers were to hold Friday prayers, Zainab Nasrallah, the daughter of Hezbollah’s former leader Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, said Lebanese people stayed committed to resistance.

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, designated the last Friday in Ramadan, on the Muslim lunar calendar, as International Quds Day in 1979.

The rallygoers issued a final statement at the end of their rally on March 28, 2025.

The excerpts of the final statement are as follows

We, the participants in this rally, consider Palestine to be the number one issue of the Islamic world and the focal point of the historical confrontation between the "Islamic resistance discourse" and the hegemonic projects of the global capitalist system. While firmly condemning "child-killing", "genocide", "forced displacement", "apartheid", "destruction of vital infrastructure" and "demographic engineering policies", we declare our firm support for the cause of Palestinian freedom.

We demand immediate action by the international community to stop these crimes against humanity, to prosecute the leaders of "the Zionist regime", especially "the butcher of Gaza", Benjamin Netanyahu, in international criminal courts, and to unblock the delivery of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Gaza as a humanitarian necessity.

We, the insightful people of Islamic Iran, in the light of Islamic teachings and inspired by the anti-arrogance theory of the Islamic Revolution, consider the unconditional support of the hegemonic system, especially the equipping of the "fake Zionist regime's war" machine by the U.S. of and some European governments, and the provision of a security umbrella for the continuation of this regime's crimes within the flawed structures of international law, not as a sign of power, but as a manifestation of the crisis of legitimacy and the gradual decline of the hegemony of the arrogant front.

With a deep understanding of the equations of resistance and the specifics of the war of wills, we declare to the awakened consciences and oppressed nations that no advanced weapon can withstand the power of faith, revolutionary determination, and strategic stability of the resistance front, and that the inevitable fall of the occupying regime is not a possibility, but a historical necessity in the process of future developments in the region and the world.
