Iran attends 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku

Baku, May 2, IRNA – The 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue started in Baku, Azerbaijan Republic, on Thursday with participation of Iran.

Abuzar Ebrahimi, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) , has attended the forum for Iran. 105 political and cultural authorities and 35 international institutes have attended the event. 

The 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue will be held from 2 to 3 May, with the motto of 'Building dialogue into action against discrimination, inequality and violent conflict'. 

The forum is organized by the Republic of Azerbaijan, with cooperation of UNESCO, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO), the Council of Europe and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

The event started with the speech of Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.

Management and dialog among religions, discrimination, Silk Road in the youth's views, culture of peace, prevention of Islamophobia, and promotion of tourism are among the issues to be discussed in the forum.

The head of the ICR will made a speech about cultural dialogs, relying wisdom and rationality, a way to peace and avoiding violence in the forum.

The forum will be broadcast live through the UN website.
