Why are the Zionists trying to assassinate Nasrallah?

By Ramin Hossein Abadian

TEHRAN - The Zionist military commanders, who are in pain over their recent defeat in the occupied territory of Palestine and in Syria against the Islamic resistance group, have called for assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the General-Secretary of Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
General Roei Leivi, a Zionist military commander, in an article in Maarkhot which is a Zionist publication has emphasized the need of assassination of the Hezbollah leaders, particularly Nasrallah.
Assassination policy on the Zionists’’ agenda
This is not the first time that the Zionists have spoken of the need for the assassination of the resistance leaders as the Zionist publication, Walla, had previously published a report on Tel Aviv’s projects to assassinate Nasrallah and other resistance leaders in Lebanon.
Walla wrote, “Amir Peretz, former Zionist Minister of Defense in 2006, called on Israeli security and intelligence agencies to hand over Nasrallah's case to him as well as his hiding places to examine the possibility of his assassination. Surprisingly, Peretz never found much on Nasrallah.
It is clear that assassination of Islamic movement leaders has always been the Zionists’ policy; however, they have failed in fulfilling their policy as Walla has already acknowledged.
Illusion of breaking the fighting spirit of Hezbollah
One of the illusions of the Zionists over the assassination of resistance leaders in Lebanon, with Seyed Hassan Nasrallah on top of the list, has to do with their illusion over breaking the fighting spirit of Hezbollah.
This is while the assassination of any of the Hezbollah leaders, be it in the battle field, in Lebanon or in Syria, not only hasn’t had any impact on the movement but has increased their determination to gain more victories and confront the Zionist enemy and their-backed Takfiri terrorists.
A clear example of such achievement is Syria where after over 8 years of crisis, with backing of resistance group and the undeniable role of Lebanese Hezbollah, 90 percent of the Middle East country has been liberated from Takfiri terrorists. That is exactly why the Zionists stress the withdrawal of Hezbollah form Syria.
Fear of the strategic plan of resistance Seyed
Another issue is that the Zionists know full-well that Nasrallah is determined to take back the Golan Heights from the Zionists. The Zionists fear raises as more areas in the southern part of Syria, which sits close to the Golan Heights, gets clear from the Takfiri groups.
Abdullah Atwan, the famous writer and analyst of the Arab world says, “Seyed Hassan Nasrallah's strategic decision to reopen the occupied Golan Heights front has made the Zionist authorities nervous so much so that the Hebrew language media are shouting for the assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.”
The Zionists frustrated at the superb resistance military power
The other frustrating issue for the Zionist commanders is the superb military power of Hezbollah. According to reports, Hezbollah has at least 150,000 advanced missiles that can penetrate and hit strategic locations of the Zionists.
In addition, during the 33-day war in 2006 Hezbollah's Islamic resistance forces gained valuable experience in the ground combat field that when in need, they can use the viable option against the Zionist enemy.
Al-Yaum newspaper writes, “Therefore, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah proved for a thousand times that he is a man of his word. This man showed that he knows no lies and does not say anything but the truth. This man is not afraid of martyrdom, but according to what we have heard from his followers, he believes that he has lived more than he should’ve and his martyrdom has been delayed.

Lebanon’s Legendry Anti-Terrorist Movement Stronger Than Israeli Army

By: Kayhan Int’l

The 12th anniversary of the victory of the Resistance Front during the 33-day war imposed by illegal Zionist entity on Lebanon, was marked with fanfare to celebrate the shattering of the myth of superiority of the Israeli war machine.

Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, proved to be the only Arab military force to triumph over Israel which ever since its illegitimate birth on Palestinian soil in 1948, had defeated the combined armies of several Arab states during the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973.

Hezbollah Secretary General, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah during his memorable speech on the occasion praised the efforts of the Resistance Forces and said that today the Lebanese Resistance is more powerful than the Israeli army, while both the US and the Zionist entity are too weak to launch wars like they did before.

Ground realities point out that these words are no exaggeration, but a crystal clear message for those who are dreaming to impose a new war on the world’s most efficient anti-terrorist organization. The experience Hezbollah has gained in the 7-year long conflict in Syria to defeat the terrorists and liberate towns and cities occupied by US-Israeli trained and armed forces, are a testimony in this regard.

Seyyed Nasrallah said: "The resistance in Lebanon today, in its possession of weapons and equipment and capabilities and members and cadres and ability and expertise and experience, and also of faith and determination and courage and will, is stronger than at any time since its launch in the region.”

One should recall the events prior to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006. Following Israel’s assassination of Lebanon’s ex-premier Rafiq Hariri in 2005, and the casting of the blame on Syria in his death, followed by UN Security Council Resolution 1559, Syria was forced to fully withdraw its military forces from Lebanon on April 30, 2005. Between 1976 and 2005, Syria had on average between 20,000 and 40,000 troops in Lebanon.
In 2006 the White House gave the green light to the Israeli regime to attack Lebanon’s Hezbollah, two months before the capture of two Israeli soldiers and the killing of eight others by Hezbollah defenders in July 2006.

Israel’s Winograd Committee, which was formed for inquiry into the events of military engagement in Lebanon 2006 leaked a testimony from the then Zionist premier, Ehud Olmert, that the latter had been preparing for such a war at least four months before the official casus belli: the capture by Hezbollah of two Israeli soldiers at a border post on 12 July 2006.

After 33-days of intense fighting and the savage bombardment of Lebanese civilians in 2006, Israel, which was said to possess the world’s 14th powerful army, was beaten severely by the small resistance organization known as Hezbollah.

Now 12 years have passed since that day, and the anti-terrorist organization has proved itself to be more capable. Hezbollah’s active support and troop deployment in Syria started from 2012 onwards in support of the Syrian people and Syria’s legitimate government against foreign-backed (US-Zionist-Arab) Takfiri terrorism. On several fronts, Hezbollah, which continues to have its units in Syria at the request of the government of Damascus, has actively played significant roles to liberate Syrian key towns and cities.
One should remember that Hezbollah is not just a military organization with weapons and fighters. It has grassroots support – even amongst the Sunni Muslims and Christians – and has become an inseparable part of Lebanese society.

Hezbollah organizes extensive social development programmes and runs hospitals, news services and educational facilities, providing services to all irrespective of religion, sect, or political affiliations.

Currently it operates at least four hospitals, twelve clinics, twelve schools and two agricultural centres in southern Lebanon that provide farmers with technical assistance and training. It also has an environmental department and an extensive social assistance programme. Medical care is also cheaper than in most of Lebanon’s private hospitals.
As a result, it is deeply embedded in the Lebanese society. No matter what labels the super terrorists in Washington use against it in an attempt to discredit it, Hezbollah, which in Arabic means "Party of God” – a term derived from the holy Qur’an where on two occasions Almighty Allah has promised victory to the Truthful – is there to stay and continue the fight against the real terrorists in the region, that is, the Zionists, who will one day be driven out from all of Palestine.

In his latest speech, Seyyed Nasrallah also noted that the war in Syria was planned after the US and the Zionist entity had failed to topple the Resistance in Lebanon in 2006. He also denounced the US, Saudi and Zionist attempts to topple the Syrian government, and assured that the Axis of Resistance will emerge victorious in Syria soon.

Trump’s Trumping in Helsinki Bolsters Iran’s Indomitable Stance

As we had forecast in our Viewpoint Column of Monday, July 16, US president, Donald Trump, was not just outwitted by his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at the summit in Helsinki on Tuesday, July 16, but so thoroughly trumped that the whole US, including his Republican party, is calling him a "disgrace for the nation”, if not a "traitor”. We had said day-before-yesterday in our column titled "Trump’s Diplomatic Misdemeanor Set to Boomerang Badly”, following his fiasco in Belgium and Britain: "Thus, shunned by all and liked by no one, Trump now heads to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, for a summit with President Vladimir of Russia, a master politician, who will certainly hold his ground on Crimea and Ukraine, without yielding to any outlandish demands regarding Syria, where the illegal American military presence has no chance of survival.” Even with his supporters trying to distance themselves from him now, we are not sure what sort of trumping Trump will receive at the hands of the Congress or whether he will be impeached as the most idiotic president in US history who meekly surrendered to arch rival Russia. Whatever the outcome, judging from his sickening rhetoric against Iran during the press conference in Helsinki that made no impression upon Putin, the Don Quixote in the White House is expected to continue the suicidal course he has chosen. Trump, who was outsmarted last June in Singapore by North Korean Leader, Kim Jong-un, is incapable of understanding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is too resilient a popular system of government to succumb to his economic sanctions or military threats. He is free to rave and rant to his heart’s content while he is still at the helm of affairs in Washington, but he can neither legitimize the existence of the illegal Zionist entity nor force Iran to withdraw its advisors from Syria, or for that matter stop Tehran’s principled support for Iraq’s Hashd ash-Sha’bi, Palestine’s freedom fighters, the popular Ansarallah movement of Yemen, Bahrain’s long suppressed majority, Afghanistan’s oppressed people, and Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist organization, the Hezbollah – let alone end the Islamic Republic’s peaceful nuclear project, aerospace programme, and rapidly expanding missile defense technology. We, however, expect some real soul-searching at the decision-making centres in the US, in the wake of Trump’s dismal performance vis-à-vis Putin in Helsinki where the thug in him appeared like a kitten, coupled with his belittling of the FBI and other American intelligence agencies, whose heads are now furious at his stupidity.
It should be clear to most Americans now that a madman who undermines the credibility of the nation by breaching international accords, bragging about military weapons, selecting hoodlums and conmen as administration officials, disturbing the world trade order, betting upon losing horses in West Asia such as the rootless, repressive, unrepresentative reactionary Arab regimes, and calling traditional allies like the EU, "foes”, will bring further disaster to the US, if his powers are not slashed. As for Europe, it is about time it realized that the US and its hegemonic heads do not belong to the Old World, of which Russia, Iran and the other Asian and African countries are integral parts, which warrants peace, harmony, co-existence and uninterrupted economic and trade ties without bowing to trans-Atlantic pressures. As the wily Putin threw to a surprised Trump the football he had brought to Finland, fresh from hosting the FIFA World Cup, the ball is now in the US court – as its president sheepishly acknowledged, without the least clue on fair play and sporting spirit. The Islamic Republic is grateful to God Almighty that its foe is a fool – as we recite in one of the supplications in Sahifa-e Sajjadiyyah of Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS), the 4th Infallible Heir of the Almighty Last and Greatest Messenger to all mankind, Prophet Muhammad (SAWA). -Kayhan Int’l
